Summary
\nDatabase Administrator provides technical leadership to maintain day-to-day support for bank databases across multiple platforms (Oracle, MSSQL, Core banking database, Other Application Database, Cloud Database platform such as AWS, and Big Data \/ SQL Database platform). Database administrator will ensure that organization\u2019s databases are managed efficiently and securely.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties<\/p>\n
Designing and implementing database systems i.e Oracle, MS SQL and others environments as needed.
\nPerform database tuning, monitoring, optimizing database performance and upgrade of databases and its patches as per policy and procedures in place.
\nPerform software installs and Linux shell scripting, and physical and logical database design.
\nEnsure database full backup is conducted and data are stored in secured storage and location.
\nEnsure Core application databases replication working as per business continuity standard.
\nManaging database security and access controls.
\nAnalyze and plan for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements, develop and administer data standards, policies, and procedures
\nPerforms the capacity planning required to create and maintain the database
\nProvide direction for database design, development, and administration in support of production operations<\/p>\n
Develop, implement and lead projects and project plans relating to database Supporting data migration and integration projects.
\nProvide Oracle database programming and administration (DBA) of multiple Oracle applications environments
\nEnsure Core Banking System and all applications databases are running and performing at optimal level
\nAdheres to and supports IS systems, enforce standards, policies, and procedures to end users
\nDaily system monitoring to ensure 24X7 availability of databases and applications
\nParameterize Core Banking System database and other applications database according to analyzed requirements.
\nWorks closely with members of the application and infrastructure teams on timely resolution of reported incidents\/issues.
\nEnsure all reported and logged issues are well analyzed, defined and resolved with recorded resolutions.
\nMonitor databases uptime and performance and provide periodic reviews for such databases.
\nWork closely with Project Manager on Change requests analysis and change process management.
\nAnalyze and document problems and resolutions in defined standards and Knowledge Base systems.<\/p>\n
Education and Experience<\/p>\n
Bachelor degree in computer science or related field.
\nCertification for Database Administration will be added advantage.
\n2 years\u2019 experience in similar position<\/p>\n
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities<\/p>\n
Understands applications hosting platforms, such as WebLogic, Apache, IIS, Tomcat etc
\nFundamental knowledge in programming languages, such as Php, C# and Java
\nUnderstands basic principles of any Core Banking System
\nKnowledge with Database management systems (Oracle, MS SQL etc)
\nKnowledge with Linux and Window opening systems Administration
\nKnowledge with reports development platforms.
\nKnowledgeable in ITIL, DBA, Oracle, MS SQL
\nKnowledge in Orbit-Rubicon Core Banking Application will be added advantage.<\/p>\n
