{"id":1538,"date":"2025-05-28T15:32:07","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T15:32:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/tanzania\/job\/specialist-trade-operations-at-nmb-bank\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T00:50:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T00:50:11","slug":"specialist-trade-operations-at-nmb-bank","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/tanzania\/?post_type=job_listing&p=1538","title":{"rendered":"Specialist; Trade Operations at NMB Bank"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Specialist; Trade Operations (1 Position(s))<br \/>\nJob Location :<br \/>\nHead Office, Hq<br \/>\nJob Purpose:<br \/>\nSupport operations of Trade Finance products ensuring that they operate effectively, efficiently and within compliance and regulatory\/governing requirements.<br \/>\nDrive a high-performance culture, managing productivity, creating efficiencies and ensuring that the Trade teams deliver quality service to all clients.<br \/>\nMain Responsibilities:<br \/>\nReview and process trade finance transactions such as Export Letters of Credit, Import Letters of Credit, Documentary Collection, Bills Avalization, Guarantees, Standby Letters of Credits and Trade Loans etc.<br \/>\nEnsuring collection of fees and commissions for all Transactional Banking\/non-funded products which are processed.<br \/>\nSupport business units (BM, RM, RO\u2019S) in planning, implementations, governance and control strategies to optimize Trade Finance expertise and products available within the bank.<br \/>\nSupport Trade Finance unit to create a suitable structure for the best Trade Finance products, process and procedures including an end-to-end process flow between the front office and back-office functions.<br \/>\nMitigation controls on operational risk of the department to avoid operational\/ reputational losses and ensure understanding and full compliance of bank\u2019s procedures and practices.<br \/>\nAdhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments\/ units to achieve improvements in turnaround time (TAT) with respect to processing transactions for the respective divisions\/departments.<br \/>\nPrepare and manage Branch trade-finance activities including Staff training, activations, workshops and branch visits<br \/>\nParticipate in regional trade finance activities including transactions structuring such as CMA products, syndication files and financial institutions\/cross border transactions.<br \/>\nManage the performance of team members, develop and implement training and development plans to ensure their performance is aligned with business &amp; organizational goals and objectives.<br \/>\nSupport product development manager to ensure all ideas generated are appropriately executed including e2e process.<br \/>\nKnowledge and Skills:<br \/>\nUnderstanding of Trade Finance deals process flow and rationale behind the procedures.<br \/>\nGood understanding of international uniform rules that govern trade products ie. Letter of credits \u2013 UCP 600, Demand Guarantee \u2013 URDG etc.<br \/>\nAbility to manage the complexities of international trade operations in a multi-party transactional environment<br \/>\nGeneral understanding of legal requirements in terms of Trade Products and the implications thereof.<br \/>\nKnowledge of regulatory requirements i.e. Sanctions policy, Exchange Control Rulings and Policies, Trade Finance Standard Policy<br \/>\nKnow Your Customer-KYC and Customer Due Diligence<br \/>\nAbility to work with people from different backgrounds in a team environment<br \/>\nAbility to build working relationships with clients, product, operations, coverage and technology staff<br \/>\nExcellent client communication skills and a strong ability to build client relationships.<br \/>\nHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail<br \/>\nQualifications and Experience:<br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Finance\/Accounting\/Tax or related field<br \/>\nCertification in Trade Finance \u2013 CITF\/CPA\/CPB will be an added advantage<br \/>\nAt least 3 years\u2019 experience in Trade Finance<br \/>\nBanking Operations preferably in payments<br \/>\nExperience in transactional Monitoring &amp; Financial Crime<br \/>\nNMB Bank Plc is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
