Our dynamic team of local consultants delivers critical services supporting essential health products adapting proven methodologies to local contexts for long-term impact.<br \/>\nPROJECT OVERVIEW<br \/>\nThe purpose of the USAID NextGen Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora Project is to strengthen Tanzania\u2019s public health supply chain and pharmaceutical services to ensure sustainable access to and appropriate use of safe, effective, quality-assured, affordable health commodities. USAID NextGen Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora Project must work to develop the capacity of local systems, institutions, and individuals to sustainably manage supply chains, for both USAID-procured health commodities and those procured through national\/local systems, and to strengthen local pharmaceutical management systems, including quality pharmaceutical services and national regulatory systems.<br \/>\nJOB SUMMARY<br \/>\nThe Workforce Team Lead will work under the technical guidance of the Deputy Chief of Party to support and supervise a team of technical staff. She\/he will guide the design and implementation of capacity-strengthening activities that equip local institutions, systems, and individuals to sustainably manage public health supply chains and pharmaceutical services. The role will also focus on strengthening the use of supply chain data for operational and strategic decision-making to improve overall product availability. She\/he provides overall technical direction and strategy on workforce development and data use for the project, creating and managing a high-performing technical team, delivering results and improvements in our key performance indicators.<br \/>\nRESPONSIBILITIES:<br \/>\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:<br \/>\nProvide strategic direction and oversight to the project\u2019s work on workforce development and use of supply chain data, and ensure overall quality of the implementation of the activities.<br \/>\nOversee the identification, implementation, and coordination of interventions needed to address human resource capacity in the supply chain.<br \/>\nSupport, guide, and serve as a technical resource in direct technical work for implementing supply chain improvement strategies and management approaches related to Capacity Strengthening on behalf of the project.<br \/>\nSupport the Workforce Advisors in the design and implementation of workforce development initiatives to support supply chain performance improvement (data analysis and use, dashboard and tool development, technical and progress reports), and monitor and report on progress routinely.<br \/>\nSupport and guide in the design and implementation of workforce development activities for the GOT SC workforce.<br \/>\nAssist and monitor the transition of workforce development and Data Use activities to the Government of Tanzania and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.<br \/>\nSupport and guide the Workforce Innovation Advisor in the development and implementation of e-Learning initiatives for the health supply chain workforce development.<br \/>\nOversee and conduct training on technical supply chain topics, consulting skills, and administrative topics, as needed.<br \/>\nProvide technical guidance during the development of workplans and budgets for execution activities .<br \/>\nEnsure workplan activities and deliverables around the Workforce workstream are completed on time and of high quality, coordinated across technical teams, and saved on the shared drive.<br \/>\nDocument success stories, best practices, and lessons learned.<br \/>\nServe as a technical resource for project staff for implementing supply chain improvement strategies and management approaches .<br \/>\nPrepare presentations, participate, and\/or represent the project in stakeholder meetings.<br \/>\nComplete and submit in a timely fashion written technical and trip reports.<br \/>\nProvide administrative and supervisory roles to assigned supervisees.<br \/>\nPerform other duties as assigned.<br \/>\nQUALIFICATIONS:<br \/>\nApplicants for this position should be Tanzanian nationals or lawful residents who possess the following minimum qualifications:<br \/>\nHolds a degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Public Health, Statistics, or a related field (advanced degree preferred), with at least five years of experience working in health programs.<br \/>\nAt least 8 years in global health or development, with a strong emphasis on project management, training, and team leadership.<br \/>\nExperience working with the national and subnational Ministry of Health, PORALG, and NGOs teams is required.<br \/>\nConversant with Tanzania\u2019s public health supply chain.<br \/>\nAbility to analyze supply chain data, conduct root cause analysis, and prepare quality presentations\/reports.<br \/>\nDemonstrated experience in delivering supply chain training programs.<br \/>\nKnowledge of various electronic health information systems such as eLMIS, DHIS2, VIMS etc.<br \/>\nProven ability in mentoring stakeholders within the public health sector.<br \/>\nProven strong leadership skills and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.<br \/>\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.<br \/>\nAbility to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and work independently.<br \/>\nExcellent technical writing and oral presentation skills are highly desired<br \/>\nExcellent written and verbal English.<br \/>\nA proven ability to work as part of a team and to be self-managing.<br \/>\nKnowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.<br \/>\nPrevious work experience with USAID-funded projects is desirable.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
