Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is vested with the responsibility of maintenance and development of the trunk and regional roads network in Tanzania Mainland. It is also responsible for conducting axle load control operations using weighbridge scales.
\nThe Regional Manager TANROADS Dar es Salaam, on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS, is seeking qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacant posts for the supervision of road construction projects in Dar es Salaam Region.
\nQualified and competent staff will be recruited on specified employment contracts for the road projects in Dar es Salaam Region in the following fields:

\nPosition Title: Topographical Surveyor \u2013 1 Post
\nEntry Qualification:Must be a Tanzanian Citizen with a Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution with at least five (5) years of working experience in a related field. Must be registered by NCPS as a professional Land Surveyor.
\nDuties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports of works performed<\/p>\n
Review survey data for accuracy, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites<\/p>\n
Direct or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties<\/p>\n
Record the results of surveys, including shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features<\/p>\n
Search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed<\/p>\n
Coordinate findings with engineers, clients, and other stakeholders concerned with projects<\/p>\n
Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy<\/p>\n
Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering instruments<\/p>\n
Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas<\/p>\n
Develop criteria for survey methods and procedures<\/p>\n
Determine specifications for photographic equipment to be used for aerial photography<\/p>\n
Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor<\/p>\n
Successful applicants must be ready to work for a considerable length of time in Dar es Salaam Region, where the projects are located.
