\nThe Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) was established in 1996 as a company limited \u00a0by guarantee \u00a0without \u00a0share\u00a0 capital. \u00a0In\u00a0 June \u00a02015, \u00a0it \u00a0transitioned \u00a0into \u00a0a\u00a0 public company limited by shares and in July 2016 it became self-listed.
\nThe DSE\u2019s core mandate includes providing a platform for trading listed securities and
\nsupporting companies in raising capital through the issuance of shares and bonds.
\nTo strengthen our operations and enhance efficiency, we are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and high-integrity individual with strong technical competencies to join our team as a\u00a0Market Operations \u00a0Officer \u00a0and \u00a0thus, \u00a0inviting \u00a0applications \u00a0from\u00a0 suitable\u00a0 qualified \u00a0candidates. \nJob Purpose:
\nResponsible for overseeing the daily activities involved in trading and market operations, ensuring that trades are executed, settled and processed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.<\/p>\n

\nRequired Academic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Competencies:
\nHolder of Degree in Economics, Accounting, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
\nSecurities \u00a0Markets \u00a0Certification \u00a0Program \u00a0recognized \u00a0by \u00a0Regulator \u00a0is \u00a0an \u00a0added
\nadvantage.
\nSecurities Investment & Trading (SIT) Certification is an added advantage.
\nRisk Management Certification is an added advantage.
\nMinimum of 1 (one) year of relevant experience in a reputable organization.
\nExperience \u00a0in \u00a0any \u00a0of \u00a0the \u00a0following \u00a0areas \u00a0is \u00a0desirable: \u00a0econometrics, \u00a0statistical analysis, market performance monitoring, business of stock exchange, regulatory and policy analysis.
\nStrong knowledge of Stock Exchange systems and processes, economic principles and business accounting.
\nUnderstanding of the dynamics within regional and global stock exchange.
\nStrong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
\nAbility to manage internal and external contacts with stakeholders on routine and operational issues.
\nAbility to multi-task, prioritize work and manage time effectively, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
\nProfessionalism, discretion and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
\nKey Duties:
\nFirst point of contact for resolving and escalating market incidents in real-time.
\nMonitor market participant compliance with the trading rules, continuous disclosure obligations, and procedures.
\nEngage \u00a0and \u00a0service \u00a0diverse \u00a0stakeholders \u00a0such \u00a0as \u00a0brokers, \u00a0custodians, \u00a0system vendors, compliance officers, auditors, and regulators.
\nPerform\u00a0 \u00a0real-time\u00a0 \u00a0market\u00a0 \u00a0monitoring\u00a0 \u00a0by\u00a0 \u00a0coding\u00a0 \u00a0alerts\u00a0 \u00a0accurately\u00a0 \u00a0within\u00a0 \u00a0set timeframes and prescribed trading rules.
\nManage stakeholder queries ensuring alignment with the trading rules, policies, and regulations.
\nMaintain operational documentation, perform statistical analysis, and organize data to report to management, regulators, and internal\/external audits.
\nWork collaboratively with internal teams on continuous disclosure issues.
\nIdentify and implement process improvement to reduce operational risk, enhance customer experience, and develop technical change.
\nIdentify, support, and participate in knowledge management activities and subject matter expertise development.
\nInvestigate, reconcile, and resolve confirmation mismatches.
\nParticipating in the User Acceptance Test (UAT) system in testing new applications
\nPerform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
