Basic purpose
\nThe Sustainability Program Manager will lead sustainability programs of the Bank, including sustainable finance portfolio growth and partnership management. The Manager is responsible for ensuring effective management of both Sustainability\/Climate risks and opportunities. The ideal candidate will combine financial expertise with a strong understanding of Climate and ESG principles to support the integration of sustainability into the Bank\u2019s operations and business propositions.
\nMain duties and responsibilities<\/p>\n
Business development:<\/p>\n
Identify, initiate, and negotiate Sustainable Finance business opportunities with new and existing clients to grow the sustainable portfolio.
\nLead the development of sustainable products and services to be offered by the Bank and drive their uptake.<\/p>\n
Programs and partnerships management:<\/p>\n
Manage the implementation of Sustainability Programs and their respective reporting.
\nManage partner relationships focused on funding mobilization, impact delivery, sustainability positioning, and advocacy.
\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients and stakeholders within the Sustainability fraternity.<\/p>\n
Training and capacity building:<\/p>\n
Provide training and raise awareness on Sustainable Finance and related opportunities to business teams and all employees.
\nCreate Climate, Environmental, and Social awareness among the Bank\u2019s customers.<\/p>\n
Advisory:<\/p>\n
Provide advisory support on technical and emerging sustainability areas.
\nContribute to the wider organizational ESG policy, procedures, and tool development and implementation thereof.<\/p>\n
Risk management:<\/p>\n
Conduct thorough due diligence and credit assessments to ensure sound risk management practices in alignment with the Bank\u2019s Climate, Environmental, and Social (E&S) risk management practices.<\/p>\n
Qualifications, skills, and experience
\nSkills<\/p>\n
Commercial and client-oriented, with an ability to attract and onboard Sustainability businesses and clients.
\nKnowledge and experience in embedding Sustainability into Banking Business and products\/services offered.
\nBusiness and funding proposal writing.
\nProgram management skills and reporting.
\nAbility to build productive working relationships with clients and strategic partners.
\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Sustainability, Development Economics, Finance, Environmental Management, or a related field.
\nCertification in Sustainability\/Environmental field will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Sustainability-related field, corporate banking, or a similar role.
\nExperience in Donor\/NGO Programs Management.<\/p>\n
