Job Summary
\nTransit and Local Drivers are entrusted with the safe and timely transport of goods between company facilities, distribution centers, and client locations. This role demands strong driving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a dedication to delivering exceptional customer service. The selected candidates will be responsible for securing cargo, complying with traffic and safety regulations, and completing all required documentation accurately.

Safe and Timely Transportation<\/p>\n
Operate company vehicles to safely transport goods, materials, and products.<\/p>\n
Ensure timely pick-up and delivery of consignments as scheduled.<\/p>\n

Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection<\/p>\n
Perform pre-trip, route, and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition.<\/p>\n
Immediately report vehicle defects, damages, or malfunctions to the supervisor.<\/p>\n
Conduct basic maintenance checks, including oil, water, and tire pressure.<\/p>\n
Compliance and Documentation<\/p>\n
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate logs for deliveries, mileage, fuel receipts, and relevant documentation.<\/p>\n
Ensure all paperwork is signed and handled correctly.<\/p>\n
Loading and Unloading Support<\/p>\n
Assist with loading and unloading goods as required.<\/p>\n
Securely fasten and protect goods to prevent damage during transit.<\/p>\n
Communication<\/p>\n
Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers about delivery status.<\/p>\n
Immediately report any delays, accidents, or unusual events during transit.<\/p>\n
Customer Service<\/p>\n
Interact professionally with clients and customers.<\/p>\n
Address customer concerns politely and escalate issues when necessary.<\/p>\n
Route Planning<\/p>\n
Plan and follow the most efficient routes to reduce delivery times and fuel consumption.<\/p>\n
Utilize GPS and other navigation tools effectively.<\/p>\n
Safety and Security<\/p>\n
Ensure the safety of cargo and vehicles at all times.<\/p>\n
Follow security protocols to prevent theft or loss.<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/p>\n
Education and Licensing<\/p>\n
Certificate of Ordinary Level Education.<\/p>\n
Valid driving license with Class E.<\/p>\n
Clean driving record.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Previous driving experience, particularly with large vehicles, is preferred.<\/p>\n
Customer service experience is an asset.<\/p>\n
Skills and Attributes<\/p>\n
Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws.<\/p>\n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n
Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies calmly.<\/p>\n
Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections.<\/p>\n

Background and Health Checks<\/p>\n
Must pass criminal background checks and drug\/alcohol testing.<\/p>\n
