{"id":1716,"date":"2025-06-18T10:02:07","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T10:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/tanzania\/job\/field-equipment-technician-at-bayer\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T00:50:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T00:50:09","slug":"field-equipment-technician-at-bayer","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/tanzania\/?post_type=job_listing&p=1716","title":{"rendered":"Field Equipment Technician at Bayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the Seed Corn Field Equipment Technician at Bayer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all field equipment related to seed corn production.<br \/>\nThis position requires a deep understanding of agricultural machinery, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing equipment logistics and maintenance schedules.<br \/>\nCoordinates the operational processes involving field equipment to support planting, detasseling and harvesting operations.<br \/>\nImplement and administrate maintenance programs.<br \/>\nManage growers regarding planning and execution of various field activities such as planting, detasseling and harvesting.<br \/>\nGive weekly reports on machine utilization rate.<br \/>\nKey Tasks &amp; Responsibilities:<br \/>\nEquipment Management:<br \/>\nOversee the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of all field equipment necessary for seed corn production.<br \/>\nEnsure all equipment is properly calibrated, functional, and compliant with safety standards.<br \/>\nImplement preventative maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime during critical production periods.<br \/>\nOperational Efficiency:<br \/>\nWork closely with field operations teams to optimize equipment usage and efficiency.<br \/>\nDevelop strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce operational costs.<br \/>\nMonitor equipment performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.<br \/>\nLogistics and Inventory Management:<br \/>\nManage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for equipment maintenance.<br \/>\nCoordinate equipment logistics, including transportation and storage, to support seasonal and operational needs.<br \/>\nMaintain accurate records of equipment usage, repairs, and maintenance activities.<br \/>\nTeam Collaboration:<br \/>\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including agronomists, engineers, and technicians to support seed corn production goals.<br \/>\nProvide technical guidance and training to field staff on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.<br \/>\nSafety and Compliance:<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.<br \/>\nConduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of safety among the equipment team.<br \/>\nQualifications &amp; Competencies:<br \/>\nAgricultural or technical Diploma. Or 3 years practical experience in farming activities, planting and harvesting.<br \/>\n3 Years seed production experience<br \/>\nFluent in English<br \/>\nMS Office software (Excel, E-mail, Word, Project etc.)<br \/>\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills<br \/>\nResults oriented with ability to work on own initiative<br \/>\nStrong teamwork (flexibility to work across the areas and positively influencing others)<br \/>\nEstablish clear direction and making decisions on a timely manner<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
