ACCOUNTANT \u2013 MWANZA TANZANIA

\nWe\u2019re looking for a dynamic person, passionate about customer engagement and providing a world class experience to join our growing team in Mwanza Tanzania as an Accountant. The person will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
\nThe role will report to the Senior Financial Accountant and will be based in Mwanza, Tanzania.
\nPurpose of the role:
\nResponsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies. This role supports the organization\u2019s financial health by managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, assisting with budgeting processes, and providing timely financial insights to aid decision-making.
\nThe job responsibilities:
\nPrepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports.
\nProcess accounts payable and receivable transactions in a timely manner.
\nReconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
\nAssist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
\nEnsure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.
\nSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
\nPrepare and file statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE, income tax).
\nMonitor and report on financial performance and variances.
\nParticipate and assist in all internal & external audits.
\nCollaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial reporting.
\nEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures.
\nQualifications & Experience Requirements
\nDegree in Accountancy or related qualifications from recognized institution.
\n1-2 Years experience in finance or accounting practices.
\nPrevious experience and exposure in mining industry and related industries in a finance & accounting role (added advantage).
\nOther Requirements & Competencies
\nGood command of the English Language.
\nDemonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality.
\nAttention to detail and conscientious.
\nAdvanced communication skills.
\nMust be flexible and self-reliant, self-starter.
