Job Summary
\nThe position available is for the Financial Controller of Dangote Cement Limited Tanzania. The company\u2019s vision is \u201cTo be the preferred supplier in Tanzania, Northern Mozambique, Regional Markets, and Indian Ocean Islands, of high-quality affordable products.\u201d This role is situated within the Company Finance Department, which aspires to be recognized as \u201cA True Business Partner & Reference Finance Organization.\u201d
\nThis position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Dangote Cement PLC Group Financial policies and will collaborate closely with the teams at the Dangote Group Head Office to achieve this goal.
\nResponsibilities and Key Duties<\/p>\n
Deputizing for Chief Finance Officer:\u00a0Together with the Treasury Manager, deputize for the Chief Financial Officer.<\/p>\n
Dangote Group Policies:\u00a0Implement the Dangote Finance Policies working closely with the Group Finance<\/p>\n
Internal Controls:\u00a0Ensure adequate and effective internal controls over the finance function regarding the general ledger, procure to pay process, financial & management reporting, statutory reporting, budgeting & costing, tax management, collections, GL reconciliations and assets of the company.<\/p>\n
Financial Accounting:\u00a0Ensure reliability and accuracy of the general ledger, together with a sound procure to pay process, including maintaining relationships with the relevant internal stakeholders. In addition, ensure the balance sheet is accurate and properly reflects the business activities, assets, and liabilities and that all relevant reconciliations\/counts are up to date.
\nFinancial and Management reports:\u00a0Ensure that these are prepared timely in accordance with group deadlines, are accurately and communicated in a manner that is easily understood. In addition, the financial reports must be prepared in accordance with the group financial policies and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
\nBusiness Performance Management:\u00a0Manage a sound budget process and ensure that the business performance is monitored on timely basis and accurate information is shared with management to support business decisions and control. This also covers management accounting, financial and business forecast together with costing and includes maintaining sound relationships with all the relevant stakeholders and senior management.
\nTax Management:\u00a0To ensure that the company\u2019s tax risks are adequately managed, and all tax\/mining and city levy statutory requirements are complied with. This includes maintaining sound relationships with the necessary tax statutory bodies, mining & local council stakeholders together with the tax advisors.
\nFixed assets accounting:\u00a0The company\u2019s fixed assets are properly accounting for, capital expenditure is properly accounted for, and assets are capitalized in a timely manner.
\nInternal and External Audit:\u00a0Be the key leader in the internal and external audit of the company and in ensuring accurate statutory financial statements as audited and released on time. All findings are addressed within agreed deadlines.
\nCommunication:\u00a0Maintain sound relationships with all other departments and department leaders in furtherance of the company\u2019s objectives.
\nBudget:\u00a0Involve, drive and support all departments during budget sections to ensure timely finalization and submission to Head Office within set deadline. Also support in preparation of the finance department budget.
\nStaff Development.\u00a0Developing all direct reports including on the job training.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Technical Competence and Work Experience<\/p>\n
Graduate or equivalent with at least 15 years\u2019 experience in Finance, Audit or Control, of which at least 3 years\u2019 experience in a senior management position are an advantage.
\nProfessional Accountancy qualification is essential (CPA, ACA, or ACCA).
\nSound understanding of basic computer packages and a good understanding of ERPs, specifically SAP (ability to be developed up within one year on SAP).<\/p>\n

Good interpersonal skills, leadership skills and sound understanding of our business and the environment it operates in (ability to be develop up within one year on our business operations & environment).
\nSound business acumen.
\nStrong leadership and people management skills and good problem solver.
\nThe job holder should have the ability to progress to the role of Chief Finance Officer of the Company or similar companies in the Dangote Group.
\nHigh ethics and Integrity are a must and is not negotiable.
