\nThe EU Delegation to the United Republic of Tanzania and to the East African Community, Dar es Salaam works in close coordination with the Embassies and Consulates of the 27 EU Member States. We are a fully-fledged diplomatic mission and represent the European Union in dealings with the Tanzania government in areas that are part of the EU\u2019s remit.

\nUnder this post, the recruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the Delegation, and on the fulfillment of their duties under the supervision of the Head of Administration Section, providing support, expertise, and assistance in the area of budget and accounting support.
\nFollowing main tasks and duties are currently required:<\/p>\n
Maintain account structures for budgetary execution.
\nAuto-accounting transactions in ABAC, CitiBank, and Budgdel, and reconcile outstanding transactions, in particular the HB lines.
\nSupervision of the execution of payment through bank statement.
\nMaintain contacts with key stakeholders in concerned areas (authorising officers, central financial services (CFS)).
\nParticipate in year-end activities (carry-forward of outstanding documents, carry-over of residual appropriations).
\nFollow up outstanding and non-executed bank transactions.
\nOrganize and perform periodic control procedures.
\nMonthly reports on budgetary and general accounts and\/or third party and contractor files when necessary.
\nMid-year budget review and reporting.
\nFollow relevant accounting regulations and instructions and their changes.
\nHandle and control liquidation of mission expenses.
\nPrepare accounting files for verification by HoA and signature by HoD.
\nOther administrative duties as assigned by HoA and\/or HoD.<\/p>\n
The base salary will depend on relevant and verified employment experience, typically starting from TZS 3,271,902. There is a competitive benefits package, subject to certain conditions, including personal leave days and public holidays, health insurances, and a retirement savings plan.
\nThis post is a two-year (2) fixed-term contract, renewable based on organizational needs and performance.
\nMinimum Requirements\/Eligibility Criteria
\nCompulsory requirement:<\/p>\n
Certificate Public Accountants (CPA) or other professional accounting diploma (BA-level).<\/p>\n
Asset:<\/p>\n
Professional experience: Minimum 3 years working experience in accounting.
\nKnowledge and language:<\/p>\n
Good knowledge of accounting systems.
\nGood knowledge of administrative\/financial management.
\nABAC applications (to be acquired if necessary).
\nFluent in written and spoken English as well as Kiswahili.
\nComputer literate.
\nExcellent communication skills.<\/p>\n
Additional skills:<\/p>\n
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
\nProblem-solving skills.<\/p>\n
