Vacancy: Director of Programmes
\nThe East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) invites applications for the position of\u00a0Director of Programmes\u00a0from suitably qualified candidates who are nationals of ECSA-HC member states. The position is based at the\u00a0ECSA-HC Secretariat in Arusha, Tanzania.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Provide technical leadership and guidance for all ECSA-HC programmes<\/p>\n
Supervise programme managers and ensure strategic, evidence-based implementation<\/p>\n
Align programme activities with the ECSA-HC Strategic Plan<\/p>\n
Oversee programme budgeting, planning, reporting, and performance monitoring<\/p>\n
Coordinate technical assistance to member states<\/p>\n
Engage donors and partners to support programme funding<\/p>\n
Lead the development of funding proposals and scopes of work<\/p>\n
Manage donor and partner relations in collaboration with the Director General<\/p>\n
Ensure timely submission of programme reports and compliance with quality standards<\/p>\n
Support development of communication protocols and resource mobilization tools<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
Master\u2019s degree (minimum) in Public Health, Medicine, Social Sciences, International Development, or related fields (PhD is an added advantage)<\/p>\n
At least 10 years of experience in senior programme leadership, including 5 years as head of a team<\/p>\n
Proven experience in resource mobilization and donor-funded projects<\/p>\n
Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills<\/p>\n
Strong writing, public speaking, project management, and team supervision abilities<\/p>\n
Familiarity with health systems in sub-Saharan Africa<\/p>\n
Contract & Benefits
