Analyze user\/business requirements to understand the needs and objectives of the bank\u2019s software solutions.
\nResearch, design and write new software programs to meet user\/business requirements.
\nIntegrate existing software products and get incompatible platforms to work together to ensure seamless functionality.
\nMaintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects, ensuring that the bank\u2019s software solutions are running efficiently and effectively.
\nInvestigate new technologies to stay up to date with the latest industry trends and development methodologies.
\nEnhance applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations, and designing and implementing systems to optimize performance.
\nWork with different departments and stakeholders to design and develop software solutions that meet their specific needs and requirements.
\nLiaise with colleagues to implement technical designs, collaborating with other members of the Innovation Department and other departments across the bank to ensure seamless integration of the bank\u2019s software solutions.
\nDocument and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code, ensuring that the bank\u2019s software solutions are properly documented and understood by relevant stakeholders.

In the event of major issues in the business unit, act as crisis coordinator and allocate tasks to the crisis teams.
\nReview the risk and compliance profiles of the business unit on a regular basis and provide consultative support to the Managing Director on changes that are required to rebalance risk and reward where required.
\nUnderstanding of own role in the end to end processes in which you play a part, including applicable risks and controls.
\nAdhere to Absa\u2019s policies and procedures applicable to own role, demonstrating sound judgment and responsible risk management.

\nCompetencies:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
\nAt least 5 years of experience in software development
\nStrong experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, and PHP
\nExperience in developing web applications using modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
\nStrong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL
\nExperience in developing and operating RESTful, SOAP etc APIs
