\nIntroduction to TANROADS
\nTanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is vested with the responsibility of Maintenance and Development of the Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland. It is also responsible for conducting Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridge scales.
\nThe Regional Manager TANROADS Morogoro, on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS, is looking for qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacant posts for the following projects:<\/p>\n
Construction of Kidatu-Ifakara-Lupiro-Malinyi Kilosa Kwa Mpepo-Londo-Lumecha\/Songea (484KM) to bitumen standard under Design and Build; Lot 1: Ifakara-Lupiro-Mtimbira (112KM, Contract No. TRD\/HQ\/1074\/2022\/23).
\nUpgrading of Morogoro (Bigwa)-Mvuha Road (78km) to Bitumen Standard Including Ruvu (64m) & Mvuha (60m) Bridges, Contract No. TRD\/HQ\/1008\/2023\/24.
\nUpgrading of Ifakara-Kihansi Road (124km) to Bitumen Standard, Lot 2: Mbingu-Chita Section (37.5km) Contract No. TRD\/HQ\/1016\/2023\/24.<\/p>\n

\nTANROADS intends to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill vacant posts on specified employment contracts for the aforementioned road projects.
\nPosition Details: Structures\/Bridge Engineer \u2013 3 Posts
\nEntry Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Must be a registered Civil Engineer with a Degree in Civil Engineering or Bridge or Structural Engineering.
\nMust have a minimum of ten (10) years of cumulative experience in bridge design and construction.
\nMust have served in at least two (2) road projects of similar magnitude and complexity in the last ten (10) years.
\nMust have a working experience of at least three (3) years in sub-Saharan countries.
\nProficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Shall be responsible for ensuring the bridge and other drainage structures are constructed according to design and conform to the contract\u2019s specifications.
\nReview structural drawings and reports for conformity to the applicable standards and specifications.
\nReview, inspect, and approve construction materials of works for compliance with technical specifications.
\nKeep and maintain records including reports, works diaries, correspondences, instructions given to contractor(s), and any other matters related to drainage structures on a day-to-day basis.
\nApprove measured quantities of drainage works satisfactorily carried out on a daily basis.
\nPrepare and submit mini progress reports with updated costs of drainage works on a daily basis.
\nPerform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.<\/p>\n

Contract for 40 Staff Months.
\nSalary: TANROADS Salary scale with other site allowances as per TANROADS Incentive Policy.<\/p>\n

\nTwo additional Structures\/Bridge Engineer posts are available for one of the following projects, with the same qualifications and CV requirements as above:<\/p>\n
Upgrading of Morogoro (Bigwa)-Mvuha Road (78km) to Bitumen Standard Including Ruvu (64m) & Mvuha (60m) Bridges, Contract No. TRD\/HQ\/1008\/2023\/24.
\nUpgrading of Ifakara-Kihansi Road (124km) to Bitumen Standard, Lot 2: Mbingu-Chita Section (37.5km) Contract No. TRD\/HQ\/1016\/2023\/24. Applicants must specify in their application whether they are applying for the Morogoro-Mvuha or Ifakara-Kihansi project for these extra posts.<\/p>\n
