Job Purpose:
\nResponsible for conducting regular field inspections and physical verification of pledged or warehoused collateral to confirm quantity, quality, and condition. Ensure that all collaterals are stored properly, secured, and documented in line with bank policy.
\nMain Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Prepare timely and accurate inspection reports, highlighting any discrepancies, deterioration, or risks observed.
\nMaintain a structured schedule of inspections based on risk category, loan value, and asset type.
\nSupport onboarding and classification of new collateral by validating its physical and legal status.
\nIdentify and escalate instances of non-compliance, under-collateralization, or suspected tampering or diversion of goods.
\nMonitor collateral value fluctuations and alert relevant teams to breaches of minimum coverage requirements.
\nRecommend risk mitigation measures, such as enhanced monitoring or third-party validation, for high-risk collateral.
\nMaintain documentation trails and photo logs to support traceability and audit readiness.
\nWork closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts, and Risk Officers to plan inspection visits and report findings.
\nCoordinate with warehouse operators, borrowers, and third-party collateral managers during field inspections.
\nServe as a liaison between the bank and external inspection agencies when outsourcing verification.
\nProvide inspection-based feedback to collateral governance teams to improve control measures.
\nConduct regular on-site audits and inspections of the warehouse facilities and goods.
\nVerify the authenticity and condition of warehouse receipts and collateral
\nReport discretion, risks or any signs of collusion between collateral managers and depositors
\nCollaborate with external collateral managers and provide real-time updates to the head office.<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills:<\/p>\n
In-depth knowledge of asset types commonly used as collateral (agricultural produce, equipment, inventory, etc.).
\nStrong understanding of collateral control practices, warehouse logistics, and security protocols.
\nExcellent report writing, photographic documentation, and analytical skills.
\nAbility to travel extensively and work in rural or semi-urban settings as required.
\nProficient in using inspection tools and digital reporting platforms (e.g., mobile forms, inspection apps).<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
\nCertification in asset valuation, field auditing or related fields will be an added advantage
\nA minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in asset inspection, warehouse operations, or collateral verification.
