SOS Children\u2019s Villages currently operates Children\u2019s Villages and other projects in 135 countries and territories, with programs in Zanzibar, Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and Iringa since 1991. Our core values guiding who we are and what we do include courage to take action, commitment to keep our promises, trust to believe in each other, and accountability to be reliable partners.<br \/>\nSOS Children\u2019s Villages in Tanzania seeks to recruit suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions.<br \/>\nJob vacancies<br \/>\nJob type\u00a0Full-time\u00a0Job<br \/>\nJob Title: Project Officer \u2013 Children in Street Situation Project (3 Posts)<br \/>\nDuty Station:\u00a0Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, and Mwanza<br \/>\nReports to:\u00a0Project Manager<br \/>\nJob Summary<br \/>\nThe Project Officer is responsible for supporting the effective and timely implementation of project activities in line with the approved work plan and budget. Under the guidance of the Project Manager, the officer will provide technical support, coordinate with stakeholders at national and sub-national levels, and engage in reporting, stakeholder engagement, organizing capacity-building events, and supporting visibility efforts to enhance the impact and sustainability of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Major Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Ensure that project activities are implemented on track and contribute to the intended outputs of the projects under the guidance of the Project Manager.<br \/>\nGather information on a regular basis, prepare activity reports and best practices for sharing, learning, and developing communication materials.<br \/>\nMaintain close working relationships with District Local Governments, Civil Society and Private Sector Organizations, and local communities.<br \/>\nManage projects\u2019 budgets per the work plans and in accordance with the organization\u2019s accounting procedures and reporting guidelines.<br \/>\nIdentify, train, supervise, and mentor dropping centers\/social workers in the project.<br \/>\nOrganize workshops, seminars, and training activities, and provide technical guidance and logistical support as needed.<br \/>\nSupport cross-district, national, and other related project assignments when required.<br \/>\nProvide monthly updates for periodic project reporting.<br \/>\nContribute to national and sub-national discussions and debates relating to the project and on emerging issues that have an impact on the project implementation.<br \/>\nEnsure quality engagement of key project stakeholders at national and sub-national levels.<br \/>\nFacilitate and support the development of communication materials and contribute to the effective presentation of project support visibility.<br \/>\nConvene, plan, and coordinate meetings for key project partners on a regular basis.<br \/>\nRaise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy, prevent and protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence, and discrimination.<br \/>\nPrevent and mitigate all possible risks in the area of child protection and safeguarding in your area.<\/p>\n<p>Job vacancies<br \/>\nKnowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Abilities, and Behavioral Competences<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in a field relevant to Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, or any related field.<br \/>\nThree years\u2019 experience in the field related to street children or community-related interventions.<br \/>\nThree years of work experience coordinating projects within social development interventions.<br \/>\nProven ability to organize and facilitate multi-stakeholder participatory processes.<br \/>\nProven ability in project management and administration.<br \/>\nAbility to communicate with different partners and stakeholders.<br \/>\nDemonstrated skills in computer literacy, technical report writing, and communication.<br \/>\nDemonstrated ability to work with government agencies, research institutions, and NGOs.<br \/>\nDemonstrated ability to work in a team.<br \/>\nFluency in English and knowledge of languages spoken in the project area is an added advantage.<br \/>\nWillingness to work and visit the mapped area for street children\u2019s settlement.<br \/>\nAbility to be innovative and proactive.<br \/>\nAbility to work with minimum supervision and function in a multidisciplinary environment.<br \/>\nSensitivity to local conditions, ethics, and norms, and sensitivity to gender and children\u2019s issues.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
