\nJob Opportunity: Underground Mine Foreman
\nLocation:\u00a0Geita Gold Mine, Geita
\nPosition Purpose:
\nResponsible for the day-to-day planning and organizing of underground mining operations, ensuring compliance with Mines Safety Regulations and Acts. Responsibilities include rostering of staff and ensuring adequate resources are available to meet production and development requirements.

\nDuties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Promptly act on any safety issues that arise, ensuring accident\/incident reporting is carried out and followed up.
\nSupervise Underground Shift Supervisors and provide direction and assistance with planning of mining activities in accordance with the Mines Safety Regulations and Acts.
\nRead mining laws and safety regulations and issue directives to workers to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations.
\nIdentify critical risks and put controls in place to eliminate them.
\nPlan and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in underground mining activities.
\nCoordinate manpower, roster preparation, annual leave scheduling, and assist with employment\/deployment of workforce.
\nCarry out regular inspections of plant and equipment and communicate with the Maintenance Department regularly on equipment scheduling.
\nLiaise with appropriate client contacts, ensuring expectations are realistic and projected targets are achieved safely and to specifications.
\nReview data, such as maps, survey reports, and geological records, and consult with engineering, maintenance, and supervisory personnel to plan and direct mine development.
\nReview and consolidate records, such as safety reports and production records.
\nEnsure inventory is correctly accounted for on a shift-by-shift basis.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
A minimum of 5 years\u2019 exposure to the underground mining industry is required for this position.
\nProduction and development background with operator experience.
\nAbility to communicate verbally.
\nAbility to handle conflict and disputes.
\nAbility to listen and take instructions and work in a team.
\nAbility to assess mining working conditions and environment.
\nAbility to recognize potential mining hazards and risks.
\nAbility to identify potential hazards and minimize risks.
\nUnderstanding of appropriate statutory and mining regulations.
\nUnderstanding of both equipment and human resource capability and productivities.
\nAbility to assess people\u2019s performance and potential.
\nAbility to coordinate activities and schedule labor.
\nAbility to implement and maintain mining training programs.
\nAbility to set high standards, work expectations, and accountability.
\nAbility to attend to housekeeping.
\nUnderstanding of mining equipment application.
\nAbility to optimize mine production.
\nUnderstanding of drilling and blasting techniques.
\nUnderstanding of explosives.
\nValid Tanzanian Driver\u2019s License and good driving skills.
\nSenior First Aid Certificate.<\/p>\n
