The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in Denver, USA. AGA has operations in more than ten countries across four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km\u2019s from Mwanza City and 20 km\u2019s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The company has its main office and operations in Geita, only 5 Km\u2019s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and a supporting office in Dar es Salaam. Applications are invited from ambitious, energetic and performance driven individuals to fill in vacant position(s) mentioned below:<br \/>\nPosition: Tradesperson 2 \u2013 Welder<br \/>\nContract type &amp; Duration: Unspecified Time Contract<br \/>\nDepartment: Engineering<br \/>\nReporting to: Senior Supervisor \u2013 Welding<br \/>\nNumber of Positions: Three (3)<br \/>\nGGML is an equal opportunity employer: Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.<br \/>\nPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:<br \/>\nTo perform advanced welding and fabrication tasks safely and efficiently, ensuring work meets the required quality standards. The role requires planning, execution, inspection, and reporting while working independently.<br \/>\nQUALIFICATIONS:<br \/>\nCertificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) and or VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade 1 in Welding and Fabrication or Equivalent.<br \/>\nThe incumbent must have valid Tanzanian driving license.<br \/>\nEXPERIENCE:<br \/>\nMinimum of 2 years\u2019 experience in welding within mining or related industries.<br \/>\nDemonstrated ability to perform complex welding tasks with minimal supervision.<br \/>\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<br \/>\nAbility to work independently and demonstrate leadership skills.<br \/>\nStrong problem-solving and coordination abilities.<br \/>\nAbility to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.<br \/>\nExcellent communication skills in Swahili and English, both written and oral.<br \/>\nPhysically fit, motivated, and able to maintain composure in stressful situations.<br \/>\nMAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<br \/>\nPerform welding and fabrication on heavy mining equipment (e.g., buckets, trays, frames, chassis) and attachments as per OEM or engineering specifications.<br \/>\nConduct on-site repairs in pits, workshops, or remote mining locations using mobile welding equipment.<br \/>\nFabricate brackets, guards, stands, stairs, platforms, or handrails as per engineering drawings and site safety requirements.<br \/>\nAssist with scheduled maintenance of support structures, equipment mounts, and tool storage setups in maintenance bays.<br \/>\nParticipate in strip-down and rebuild activities of major components (e.g., dump bodies, frames) including crack detection and repairs.<br \/>\nCarry out welding with proper joint preparation and alignment, especially for critical load-bearing structures on mobile equipment.<br \/>\nProvide fabrication and welding support for engineering upgrades or construction projects (e.g. Fuel Bay upgrades).<br \/>\nPerform positional welding, MIG\/TIG or flux-cored welding were required on high-strength structural components.<br \/>\nEnsure all fabricated parts meet quality standards and specifications laid out by engineering or OEM manuals.<br \/>\nMaintain records of welding repairs, completed jobs, and materials used, and report to your supervisor.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
