Job Title: Senior Manager \u2013 Internal Audit

Basic Purpose
\nTo lead and manage complex audit assignments across the bank, ensuring effective risk management, internal control, and governance processes. The Senior Manager will support the Head of Internal Audit in strategic planning, execution of the audit plan, and providing assurance to senior management and the Board Audit Committee.
\nMain Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Audit Planning & Execution:<\/p>\n
Develop and execute risk-based audit plans in alignment with the bank\u2019s strategic objectives.
\nLead audit teams in conducting operational, financial, compliance, and IT audits.
\nEnsure audits are completed efficiently, within scope, budget, and timelines.
\nFollow up on open audit issues with management to ensure their timely remediation and validation for closure.<\/p>\n
Risk Assessment & Advisory:<\/p>\n
Identify key risks and evaluate the adequacy of controls in place.
\nProvide practical recommendations to improve risk management and control frameworks.
\nAdvise management on emerging risks and control issues.<\/p>\n
Reporting & Communication:<\/p>\n
Prepare high-quality audit reports with clear findings and actionable recommendations.
\nPresent audit results to senior management and follow up on implementation of audit recommendations.
\nSupport the Head of Internal Audit in preparing reports for the Board Audit Committee.<\/p>\n
Leadership & Team Development:<\/p>\n
Supervise, mentor, and develop audit staff to enhance performance and career growth.
\nPromote a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement within the audit team.<\/p>\n
Compliance & Standards:<\/p>\n
Ensure audit activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS).
\nStay updated on changes in banking regulations and internal audit best practices.<\/p>\n

Education:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience:<\/p>\n
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is required; CISA and CIA are an added advantage.
\nMinimum of 8\u201310 years of progressive experience in internal audit, preferably in banking or financial services.
\nStrong knowledge of banking operations, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.<\/p>\n
