These include a comprehensive range of Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development (NC for ECD) activities. The PO -ECD will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager \u2013 Early Childhood development and the ECD team to develop and implement EGPAF Tanzania\u2019s NC for ECD projects.<br \/>\nChildcare services<br \/>\nChildcare products<br \/>\nEarly childhood education consulting<br \/>\nJob Summary<br \/>\nEarly childhood education jobs<br \/>\nEarly childhood education programs<br \/>\nThe Project Officer \u2013 Early Childhood Development (ECD) will support the implementation of ECD initiatives under the guidance of the Senior Manager, ECD, and as part of the EGPAF Technical Team. The officer will work closely with district teams and contracted Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to ensure effective integration and execution of ECD program activities. Key responsibilities include assisting in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project interventions, as well as providing ongoing technical support and capacity building to district-level stakeholders to strengthen the delivery and sustainability of ECD services.<br \/>\n1. Technical Support and Quality Assurance<\/p>\n<p>Childcare products<br \/>\nChildcare services<br \/>\nEarly childhood education programs<\/p>\n<p>Provide technical support to Regional and Council Health Management Teams (R\/CHMTs) on the implementation of Nurturing Care and ECD interventions.<br \/>\nEnsure quality assurance for all facility- and community-level ECD interventions through routine site visits and supportive supervision.<br \/>\nSupport the roll-out and effective use of new tools and job aids introduced to enhance Nurturing Care practices.<\/p>\n<p>2. Mentorship and Supportive Supervision<\/p>\n<p>Conduct regular mentoring and supportive supervision visits to project sites to build local capacity in ECD and psychosocial support implementation.<br \/>\nOrganize and oversee training activities for health providers and community health workers on Nurturing Care and ECD.<br \/>\nIdentify gaps in knowledge or practice and provide tailored coaching and refresher sessions to district teams and health workers.<\/p>\n<p>Early childhood education consulting<br \/>\n3. Communication and Coordination<\/p>\n<p>Serve as a key liaison between EGPAF, R\/CHMTs, and local implementing partners for effective collaboration and information sharing.<br \/>\nFoster linkages with other child-focused organizations and service providers to promote referrals and holistic support for ECD beneficiaries.<br \/>\nParticipate in regional and district stakeholder meetings and NM -ECDP reginal review meetings to represent project activities and share updates.<\/p>\n<p>4. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing<\/p>\n<p>Document lessons learned, challenges, and success stories from project implementation for internal learning and external dissemination.<br \/>\nIdentify best practices and contribute to the development of technical briefs and knowledge products to support scale-up efforts.<br \/>\nCapture and share innovations and locally relevant adaptations of ECD approaches.<\/p>\n<p>5. Monitoring and Reporting<\/p>\n<p>Work closely with Monitoring Evaluation and Learning \u2013 MEL team to ensure timely and accurate data collection, validation, and reporting.<br \/>\nTrack implementation progress and contribute to the preparation of monthly and quarterly activity reports.<br \/>\nAnalyze routine data to inform planning and identify areas requiring technical support or strategic adjustments.<br \/>\nEnsure reporting deadlines are met and reports are shared with the Senior Manager for compilation and submission.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>To be successful, you will have:<\/p>\n<p>University degree (Bachelor\u2019s degree or MPH) in Early Childhood, Nutrition, Community Development, Education, Sociology or related field. Experience in Early Child Development is an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Experience &amp; Skills- Required:<\/p>\n<p>At least 3 years professional experience in Early childhood development projects for international NGOs\/CSO organizations.<br \/>\nDemonstrated experience in supporting, mentoring and training other staff in early childhood development, community mobilization, health and nutrition, , and\/or social and behavior change interventions.<br \/>\nExperience coordinating or managing projects at health facilities and district level<br \/>\nExperience in collaboration with partners, government officials, community leaders, and community-based organizations;<br \/>\nStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office, including knowledge of common statistical software packages, relational database systems, and web technologies.<br \/>\nStrong Kiswahili and English writing skills to prepare reports, promotional materials and oral presentations.<br \/>\nInnovation &amp; creativity: demonstrated experience with contributing new ideas for solving various program\/organization related issues.<\/p>\n<p>Bonus points if you have:<\/p>\n<p>Technical experience with implementing early childhood development projects at district and community levels.<br \/>\nHealth, nutrition and\/or early childhood development technical skills<br \/>\nHighly organized and detail-oriented<br \/>\nThinks and acts strategically<br \/>\nStrong problem-solving skills<br \/>\nCreativity and resiliency in face of challenges<br \/>\nReady to travel to remote areas up to 70% of the time<\/p>\n<p>Additional Information<\/p>\n<p>The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) began supporting HIV and AIDS programming in Tanzania in 2003 and established a country office in 2004. Since then, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other key partners, EGPAF has expanded its scope to include integrated HIV, GBV, TB, and Family Planning services.
