Our programs include landmine detection and tuberculosis detection, and conservation initiatives. We are headquartered in Morogoro, Tanzania.<br \/>\nPosition Summary<br \/>\nAPOPO is seeking a motivated and capable Information Management Officer to lead the development and implementation of an Esri-based information systems across multiple programs in Tanzania. This position is ideal for a GIS and data management professional early in their career who is eager to apply their skills in a dynamic, field-based environment.<br \/>\nResponsibilities<br \/>\nSystem development and deployment:<br \/>\nBuild Esri-based information systems for the following areas:<br \/>\nRat training and animal welfare<br \/>\nTuberculosis detection lab testing<br \/>\nWildlife detection<br \/>\nHeroTREE environmental monitoring project<br \/>\nDesign intuitive mobile data collection tools, dashboards, and workflows using Esri tools (Survey123, Field Maps, Dashboards, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)<br \/>\nEnsure systems are scalable, sustainable, and meet the needs of program teams (e.g. session management, cage integration, workflows, lab data coordination)<br \/>\nStakeholder collaboration and capacity building:<br \/>\nWork closely with field and program staff to identify data needs and system requirements for their workflows, projects and programs<br \/>\nDeliver training sessions and user support for Esri tools and digital workflows<br \/>\nSupport adoption and handover to local teams by project end<br \/>\nData quality and integration:<br \/>\nApply best practices in data structure, integrity, version control, and metadata<br \/>\nEnsure alignment and compatibility across APOPO\u2019s projects<br \/>\nDocument systems, procedures, and data governance protocols<br \/>\nRequired Qualifications<br \/>\nDegree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field<br \/>\nA passion for system design and innovative GIS solutions<br \/>\n1 to 3 years of hands-on experience working with Esri tools including:<br \/>\nArcGIS Pro<br \/>\nArcGIS Online (AGOL)<br \/>\nSurvey123<br \/>\nField Maps<br \/>\nDashboard creation<br \/>\nGeodatabase and relational database design<br \/>\nFamiliarity with managing mobile data collection and working with offline field tools<br \/>\nExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical users<br \/>\nStrong organizational skills and attention to data quality<br \/>\nFull fluency in English<br \/>\nDesirable<br \/>\nExperience working in low-resource or international field settings<br \/>\nFamiliarity with scripting or automation (e.g. Python, Arcade)<br \/>\nInterest in APOPO\u2019s mission areas (animal training, conservation, TB, or mine action)<br \/>\nCompensation and Logistics<br \/>\nConsultancy fee: approximately 50,000 USD for 12 months<br \/>\nIncludes housing in Morogoro, Tanzania<br \/>\nOne round-trip flight (home-country \u2194 Tanzania)<br \/>\nOne additional annual leave flight<br \/>\nAPOPO will provide laptop and necessary field data collection equipment<br \/>\nOffice base in Morogoro, with occasional travel to project sites as needed<br \/>\nHow to Apply<br \/>\nPlease submit your CV, a brief cover letter, and a portfolio or examples of previous GIS or IM work by completing the application form by August 21st.
