\nBrief History of INADES-Formation Tanzania
\nINADES-Formation Tanzania (IFTz) is an autonomous NGO affiliated to the network of INADES-Formation in Africa (including Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, and Tanzania). In each country, there is a local IF establishment operating autonomously according to the demands of the local situation, but bound together by a common vision, philosophy, and operational principles. IFTz was established in Dodoma in 1989 as a branch of INADES-Formation. It became a Local Office in 1992 and acquired full legal status after registering with the Ministry of Society under the Ordinance. In June 1996, IFTz became a \u201cTrustee\u201d under the provisions of the \u201cTrustees\u2019 Incorporation Ordinance.\u201d In January 2009, it was awarded the \u2018Certificate of Compliance\u2019, No. 0851 after complying with the terms and conditions of the NGO Policy and NGO Act No. 24 of 2002 as reviewed in 2005. In 2022, IFTz received registration number NGO\/R1\/00448, which is due for renewal in 2032.
\nThe Vision of IFTz is \u201cA prosperous and influential rural Tanzanian society.\u201d Our Mission statement is \u201cto contribute to social, and economic advancement of the people with specific emphasis on the free and responsible participation of the people in the transformation of their societies.\u201d The main areas of intervention include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
Offering online and offline courses on good agricultural practices and nutrition.
\nSupporting farmer-led research, climate change adaptation, and mitigation.
\nPromoting agroforestry, biodiversity, working donkeys, gender equality, and social inclusion.<\/p>\n

\nPosition Overview
\nThe Managing Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the organization and will be responsible for overall leadership, strategic direction, and representation of the organization. The Managing Director will ensure that the organization\u2019s operations are aligned with its Vision, Mission, Values, and Strategic goals.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nA. Strategic Leadership<\/p>\n
Lead the development and execution of strategic and operational plans.
\nEnsure alignment of programs with the organizational mission and national development priorities.
\nAdvise the Board on emerging opportunities and risks.<\/p>\n
B. Governance and Reporting<\/p>\n
Ensure the organization complies with all statutory and legal requirements.
\nServe as Secretary to the Board and provide timely reports and documentation.
\nImplement policies approved by the Board.<\/p>\n
C. Program Development and Management<\/p>\n
Oversee planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and projects.
\nEnsure quality control and timely delivery of activities and results.
\nFoster innovation and learning within the organization.<\/p>\n
D. Human Resources and Team Management<\/p>\n
Lead, mentor, and supervise the management team and staff.
\nPromote a positive and inclusive working culture.
\nEnsure staff performance, development, and well-being.<\/p>\n
E. Finance and Donor Resource Mobilization<\/p>\n
Prepare annual budgets and ensure proper financial management.
\nMobilize financial and material resources from donors, partners, and income-generating initiatives.
\nEnsure compliance with donor and financial reporting requirements.<\/p>\n
F. Representation<\/p>\n
Represent the organization to stakeholders, government bodies, donors, and media.
\nBuild and maintain strategic partnerships and networks.
\nPromote the organization\u2019s public image and influence.<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
A master\u2019s degree in Development Studies, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Management, or related fields.
\nMinimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in NGO leadership, development work, or management.
\nProven experience in strategic planning, team management, and resource mobilization.
\nStrong understanding of governance, accountability, and development policies.<\/p>\n
Key Competencies and Attributes<\/p>\n
High integrity and professionalism.
\nExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
\nFluent in English and Kiswahili.
\nConversant with participatory approaches.
\nProficient in Microsoft Office.
\nKnowledge of the local and regional development context.<\/p>\n
Terms of Service<\/p>\n
The contract shall be for a period of three years, with a one-year probation.
\nUpon satisfactory performance, the contract may be renewed.
\nAn applicant should not be above 48 years old.<\/p>\n
