Job Purpose<\/p>\n
Responsible for leading the corporate credit analysis function by ensuring thorough evaluation of credit proposals, effective risk assessment, and timely support for lending decisions. The role safeguards the bank\u2019s portfolio by maintaining high credit quality and provides business teams with well-structured credit insights to drive sustainable growth. Additionally, the Senior Manager ensures customer expectations are met by processing all credit applications within the agreed Turnaround Time (TAT).<\/p>\n
Principle Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Portfolio & Risk Management<\/p>\n
Monitor the credit portfolio to identify early warning signals.
\nRecommend risk mitigation, restructuring, or recovery strategies when required.
\nEnsure compliance with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and the bank\u2019s risk appetite.<\/p>\n
Structuring & Advisory<\/p>\n
Work with relationship managers to structure suitable credit facilities that meet client needs while protecting the bank\u2019s interests.
\nAdvise on covenants, collateral requirements, and deal terms.
\nSupport the development of innovative credit solutions aligned with the bank\u2019s growth strategy.<\/p>\n

\no\u00a0\u00a0 Provide training and technical guidance to enhance team capabilities.<\/p>\n
Qualifications Required<\/p>\n
Education:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, or a related field.
\nProfessional credit skills or certification is highly desirable.<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
Minimum of 7 years\u2019 experience in corporate or investment banking, with a background in commercial lending.<\/p>\n
Technical and Analytical Skills:<\/p>\n
Project risk assessment and credit risk evaluation.
\nFinancial analysis, lending analysis, and security knowledge.
\nPortfolio management and decision-making capabilities.
\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:<\/p>\n
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with directors, managers, and clients.
\nStrong report-writing abilities.
\nInterpersonal, networking, and leadership skills.<\/p>\n
Market and Product Knowledge:<\/p>\n
Understanding of the Tanzania loan market.
\nKnowledge of products and services for SMEs, financial institutions, and corporate clients.
\nSales and negotiation skills.<\/p>\n
