The Organization was established in January 2005 and registered under the NGO Act of 2002, issued with a registration number No.00NGO\/R1\/00226 to operate in Tanzania Mainland.<br \/>\nRafiki-SDO in partnership with PACT implement the USAID Adolescents and Children HIV Incidence Reduction, Empowerment and Virus Elimination project (ACHIEVE).\u00a0 ACHIEVE its main effort is to reach and sustain HIV epidemic control among pregnant and breastfeeding women, adolescents, infants and children. The project is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development and implemented by a Pact-led consortium of top global HIV\/AIDS partners. The ACHIEVE consortium works with USAID Missions, national governments and existing response partners to identify gaps in HIV prevention and treatment programming among target populations. As part of its strategy, ACHIEVE is working to prevent and respond to gender-based violence and to empower youth to own their own future.<br \/>\nTo facilitate smooth implementation of this project, RAFIKI-SDO wishes to recruit qualified, experienced, motivated and dynamic individuals in the following position available;<br \/>\nJob Title: Project Accountant \u2013 (1 POST)\u00a0<br \/>\nTanzania job vacancies<br \/>\nOffice location:\u00a0Mara Region<br \/>\nWork station: Musoma MC<br \/>\nJob hunting tools<br \/>\nReporting to: Project Manager<br \/>\nDuration:\u00a05 Months (full-time)<br \/>\nSalary:\u00a0Attractive package<br \/>\nRoles &amp; Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Establish financial systems and policies for the project to ensure Organization compliance, practices, and regulations;<br \/>\nProvide financial and administrative support in the design, implementation, and monitoring of project activities;<br \/>\nAdvise project staff on donor requirements; and provide training on financial management, recordkeeping, operational systems, and policies as needed;<br \/>\nMaintain audit trail for all projects matters i.e., proper book keeping both soft and hard copies, proper filling of project documents etc.<br \/>\nEnsure sufficient internal controls are maintained throughout the project life, i.e., bank reconciliations and all expenses are with proper approvals.<br \/>\nMaintain organization and project fixed assets register<br \/>\nDevelop and monitor budgets for the project;<br \/>\nWork with program staff to finalize and administer sub agreements, subcontracts, MOU and other related project agreements;<br \/>\nEffectively communicate with and orient staff to ensure understanding of donor regulations, cost norms and requirements.<br \/>\nEnsure the financial monitoring of all grants in accordance with proper accounting principles and donor requirements;<br \/>\nWork with procurement process to ensure proper planning, purchasing and distribution of project products in compliance with Rafiki-SDO policies and donor regulations;<br \/>\nAnalyze project expenses through financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis;<br \/>\nCoordinate input for the project annual budgeting process with the project team<br \/>\nSupervise other financial and administrative staff;<br \/>\nEnsure timely preparation and submission of complete and accurate financial reports and cash requests as per donor requirements.<br \/>\nMaintain effective linkages between technical components, grants and finance and administrative functions within the project.<br \/>\nOversee compliance of Donor financial policy guidelines, policies and procedure of Government of Tanzania relating to all statutory requirements (PAYE, WHT, WCF, NSSF, HESLB) and any other income tax.<\/p>\n<p>Job hunting tools<br \/>\nDealing with Problems<br \/>\nComplexity of problems handled &amp; the degree of investigation, analysis, &amp; creative thinking required to solve them<\/p>\n<p>Collates and provides technical support for the implementation of the project within assigned districts<br \/>\nPuts in place systems to monitor and provide technical soundness in the implementation of the project in assigned districts\/areas<br \/>\nWorks with minimum supervision<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required to Achieve Role\u2019s Objectives:<br \/>\nGained through education, training, &amp; experience<br \/>\nOnline learning resources<br \/>\nRequirements:<\/p>\n<p>University degree in accounting, finance or any related relevant field;<br \/>\nAt least two (03) years of experience working on donor-funded development programs and financial management;<br \/>\nAt least two (03) years in a supervisory role.<br \/>\nProven work experience as an Accountant.<br \/>\nStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.<br \/>\nExcellent mathematical and analytical skills.<br \/>\nProficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.<br \/>\nDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.<br \/>\nAbility to work independently and meet deadlines.<br \/>\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrated behaviors needed by the post holder to successfully perform the role<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrating High level of confidentiality<br \/>\nKnowledgeable of the education systems and activities in Tanzania<br \/>\nDevelops, motivates, coaches and promotes high performance by partners\u2019 staff and collaborators.<\/p>\n<p>Working under pressure.<br \/>\nCommunicates clearly and effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
