\nMechanical Engineer \u2013 Electrical

\nPosition Summary
\nThe Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the installation, alignment, and commissioning support of mechanical infrastructure and auxiliaries related to Electric\u2019s electrical scope within the project. This includes HVAC systems, mechanical enclosures, cable containment, fire-rated sealing, and grounding systems across substations and related facilities. The Mechanical Engineer ensures all mechanical work is executed according to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.

\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Supervise the mechanical installation of HVAC systems, enclosures, cable trays, fire stopping, supports, and e-house building re-assembly.
\nValidate installation against approved mechanical drawings, method statements, and material specifications.
\nCoordinate with electrical, civil, and commissioning teams to resolve mechanical interface issues, especially with e-house re-assembly work.
\nEnsure mechanical subcontractors meet Electric\u2019s standards in safety, quality, and schedule.
\nPerform site inspections, support punch list closure, and verify mechanical readiness for commissioning.
\nRedline mechanical drawings and support as-built documentation preparation.
\nReport progress, risks, and deviations to site management with technical recommendations.
\nParticipate in site coordination meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE briefings.
\nAssist in testing mechanical systems like e-house building assembly, HVAC startup, pressure testing, and duct leak checks.<\/p>\n

\nBachelor\u2019s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
\nYears of Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.<\/p>\n
Industry Exposure<\/p>\n
Oil & Gas, substations, data centers, or heavy industrial installations preferred.<\/p>\n

\nTechnical Tool\/Software Proficiency<\/p>\n
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
\nNavisworks or equivalent coordination software (preferred)<\/p>\n

\nTechnical Skills<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge of e-house assembly, cable containment, grounding infrastructure, and mechanical safety requirements.
\nUnderstanding of fire-rated sealing, insulation, and structural supports.
\nFamiliarity with mechanical standards such as ASHRAE, ISO, IEC, and project-specific codes.
\nAbility to interpret mechanical schematics, BOQs, and layout drawings.
\nCompetence in mechanical system testing, commissioning support, and troubleshooting.<\/p>\n
Preferred Additional Qualifications<\/p>\n
Experience in multinational EPC or utility projects.
\nPrevious exposure to systems and integration environments.
\nFluency in English is required; Swahili or French is a plus.<\/p>\n
