\nAbout the position
\nThe Finance Associate is part of a dynamic Alliance team based at the Tanzania country office. The position works in close collaboration with Operations, HR and PLANS teams contributing to the effective operation of ABC office in Tanzania. Reporting to Country Office Administrator has the responsibility of ensuring timely and accurate registration and analysis of transactions and ensuring robust treasury operations in compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements. Under the guidance of Country office administrator, the incumbent works closely with the country representative, project leaders and hosting entity leadership.
\nKey\u00a0Responsibilities Include:<\/p>\n
\u00a0Oversee the effective running of banking operations ensuring all bank\/cash accounts are duly reconciled and balances maintained for seamless office requirements.
\n\u00a0Ensure payments and liquidated expenses are duly documented, posted and stored in accordance with institutional financial procedures and GAAP.
\n\u00a0Work closely with PLANS, administrative, and HR teams in Tanzania to ensure timely processing of payroll, statutory returns and payments in accordance with ABC policies and procedures.
\n\u00a0Work as a country focal point responsible for institutional and project Audits ensuring timely submission of Audit information, compliance with audit requirements and timely implementation of audit recommendations.
\n\u00a0Ensure effective cash flow management working closely with different business units to ensure adequate cash resources for effective running of alliance operations in the country.
\n\u00a0Ensure accurate and efficient preparation of annual operational, personnel and capital budgets including the collection and feedback from relevant parties.
\n\u00a0Ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions into UBW ERP in line with ABC financial policies and procedures.
\n\u00a0Ensure continuous analysis of TB accounts (including alliance inter-company account) to enable complete and timely submission of monthly and quarterly reports to the regional office.<\/p>\n
\u00a0University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field
\n\u00a0Professional accounting certification e.g CPA, ACCA, CIMA an added advantage
\n\u00a0Strong proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken
\n\u00a0At least seven (7) years of proven work experience in finance in an international organization, including budgeting, accounting guidelines and financial management of projects
\n\u00a0Strong knowledge of accounting and budgeting practices and procedures relevant to not-for- profit organizations
\n\u00a0Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with other national and cultural backgrounds
\n\u00a0Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
\n\u00a0Strong client service orientation
\n\u00a0High degree of integrity and transparency
\n\u00a0Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, ability to handle complex financial and budgeting systems including excellent knowledge of Excel and ERP systems
\n\u00a0Knowledge of IFRS<\/p>\n

\nThis is a nationally recruited position based in Arusha, Tanzania. The contract will be for a one-year period, subject to a probation period of three (3) months and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
\nThis position is graded at BG 06 level, with a minimum basic salary of 2,608,634.00 Tanzania Shillings in a scale of BG01 to BG14 (BG14 being the highest level according to the Alliance job classification framework policy).
