\nKey Responsibilities:
\nJOB SUMMARY
\nWorld Vision Tanzania (WVT) anticipate to receive fund from European Union (EU) to implement Integrated Approach to Sustainable Cooking Solutions Programme known as Accelerating Reforestation for the Development of Households In Tanga (ARDHI Tanga). The overall objective of ARDHI Tanga is to contribute to sustainable forest management and wood-fuel production in Tanga through enhanced natural resource management and sustainable wood-fuel value chains. The expected outcomes of the project include communities have increased understanding and appreciation of, and are advocating for sustainable natural resource management; Increased, and equitable, use of sustainable forest management practices with a focus on charcoal value chains and Increased income and resilience for young people, women, and people with disability through alternative sustainable livelihoods options. The project will be implemented in 4 District Councils of Tanga region which are Handeni, Kilindi, Mkinga and Pangani . The Position will be based in Korogwe, Tanga Region
\nWVT seeks to find qualified project driver. The driver will be responsible on driving WVT vehicles so as to facilitate staff\/visitor movements as assigned by Project Manager and keep the vehicle clean and in good working condition. Communicate World Vision\u2019s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.
\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
\nActivity
\nTo drive all WVT Project vehicles as planned (10%)
\nEnd Results
\nThe safe arrival of passengers and goods
\nTimely arrival to the destination
\nSafe arrival of the vehicle
\nSafe drive to avoild causing acidents to others road users
\nActivity
\nTo ensure that the general state of the vehicle has been regularly & timely checked (before and after use). (10%)
\nEnd Results
\nVehicle is timely serviced
\nWell maintained vehicle
\nWell cleaned vehicle
\nTo ensure the vehicle is always in good usable condition. The vehicle will be in roadworthy condition
\nActivity
\nClerical services provision (5%)
\nEnd Results
\nTimely support to all project staff as legally planned
\nSupport smooth and quick dispatch and delivery of documents between WVT and other stakeholders.
\nTimely delivery of payloads
\nActivity
\nMaintain Logbooks (10%)
\nEnd Results
\nAll mileage recorded should be those legally authorized
\nMileage recording to the log book every time when refueling the vehicle
\nThere will be a proper recording of mileage covered against fuel consumed
\nThere will be a proper recording of mileage for normal service
\nActivity
\nTo Ensure all required documents to the vehicle are valid and safely kept, Insurance, road safety stickers, availability of tool kit, triangles, reflectors, fire extinguisher & first Aid Kit. (10%)
\nEnd Results
\nTimely replacement of vehicle identified kits on its expirely (including first aid, fire extinguisher etc)
\nThere will be proper adherence to road traffic rules
\nActivity
\nEnsure all visitors sign the child protection forms as soon as they are picked up. (5%)
\nEnd Results
\nExplain the purpose of signing the child protection form to vistors before they sign
\nThe timely signing of child protection forms for visitors on arrival
\nActivity
\nTo ensure that the vehicle is not overloaded either by people or luggage (10%)

\nTo increase the life span of the tires
\nAdherence to the traffic rules and regulations
\nActivity
\nReport any adverse observation of a vehicle to Senior Transport Officer
\nEnd Results
\nThe vehicle will be in roadworthy condition
\nTo reduce the risk of accidents
\nActivity
\nRemind\/advise Senior Transport Officer to matters pertaining to services and repairs of vehicles (5%)

\nAdherence to the Planned Preventive Maintenance
\nThe vehicles will be in roadworthy condition
\nActivity
\nOther duties as assigned by the employer (5%)

\nThere will be smooth support on any other legally activities assigned to drivers

\nEnsure that the vehicles are serviced as per the Planned Preventive Maintenance. (10%)

\nThere will be safe arrival of both passengers and goods
\nThe vehicle will be in roadworthy condition always
\nThe lifespan of the vehicle will be increased

\nAdhere to WVT\u2019s Vehicle Policy all the time (10%)

\nThere will be no picking people in the vehcile who are not authorized referring to the policy of the organization
\nThere will be timely parking and allowed departure time of the WVT Project Vehicles unless legal permission is granted
\nThere will be no over speeding and therefore reduction of accidents
\nKNOWLEDGE\/QUALIFICATION FOR THE ROLE
\nRequired Professional Experience
\nAt least three years\u2019 experience as a driver
\nSafe driving record
\nMust be well acquainted with basic knowledge on vehicle parts and be able to diagnose vehicle related faults at first place.
\nLong distance driving experience
\nGood oral communication ability.
\nPolite, easy going, ability to work with variety of different people and cultures.
\nAbility to work after normal working hours to transport staff\/consultants to airport and other locations.
\nStrong language capability in both Kiswahili and English.
\nMust be honest and demonstrate the highest degree of integrity.
\nAbility to write a work-related report.
\nRequired license, registration, and certification
\nValid class C (C1, C2, C3) driving license
\nForm Four with NIT Advanced Driving Certificate or VETA Advanced Driving Certificate
\nPreferred Education, Knowledge and Qualifications
\nCertificate in logistics, administration\/procurement are the added advantages
\nExperience working in NGOs will be added advantages (International NGOs)
\nTravel and\/or Work Environment Requirement
\nWork environment: Office-based with regular travel to the field
\nTravel: Domestic travel is required.
\nPhysical Requirements
\n3 + years in driving
\nLanguage Requirements
\nAbility to communicate in English and good command of Kiswahili
\nA good relationship with other staff
\nDECISION MAKING
\nShould be able to make decision that does not affect\/interfere others dignity and organisation ethical, regulation and policies.
