Job Purpose<\/p>\n
To lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of MSME financial products and services that respond to client needs, with a strong focus on digital finance, customer-centric innovation, and climate\/ESG-responsive solutions. This role will also support the digital transformation of MSME offerings through mobile and agency banking channels.<\/p>\n
Principle Responsibilities<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0Product Design & Development<\/p>\n
Conduct client and market needs assessments to identify product gaps.
\nDesign inclusive, sustainable MSME loan and savings products (e.g., water harvesting loans, youth & women-tailored credit, green agriculture products).
\nDevelop product manuals, pricing strategies, and delivery procedures.
\nPilot and scale new products, including client feedback loops and review cycles.<\/p>\n
2. Digital Finance Integration<\/p>\n
Collaborate with ICT\/digital teams to digitize MSME loan processes and onboarding.
\nLead integration of MSME products into mobile banking, agency banking, and USSD platforms.
\nMonitor usage of digital channels by MSME clients and recommend improvements.
\nProvide training to field staff on digital tools and mobile loan disbursement\/repayment options.<\/p>\n
3. Client Experience & Feedback Management<\/p>\n
Design tools to collect and analyze client feedback on product performance.
\nOrganize regular focus groups, surveys, and satisfaction assessments with MSMEs.
\nUse feedback to adapt and iterate product features and delivery methods.<\/p>\n
4. ESG and Climate Finance Innovation<\/p>\n
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to embed ESG standards into MSME products.
\nIdentify opportunities for climate-resilient financing, such as solar-powered irrigation, water conservation, or clean cooking solutions.
\nDevelop environmental and social risk screening tools for MSME loans.
\nExplore green finance partnerships and donor-backed instruments to support ESG-aligned MSMEs.<\/p>\n
5. Partnerships and Capacity Building<\/p>\n
Liaise with technical partners (e.g., NGOs, fintechs, agritech firms) to co-develop products.
\nCoordinate training and workshops for staff and MSME clients on digital and ESG products.
\nSupport communication materials and financial literacy tools for new product rollouts.<\/p>\n
6. Monitoring & Reporting<\/p>\n
Maintain a dashboard of product performance metrics (uptake, repayment, digital usage).
\nPrepare product development reports for senior management and donor partners.
\nTrack KPIs related to digital channel growth, product sustainability, and climate\/ESG impact.<\/p>\n
Qualifications Required<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in business, Finance, ICT, Economics, or related field (Master\u2019s is an asset).
\nMinimum 3 years of experience in product development, digital finance, or MSME banking.
\nKnowledge of ESG\/climate finance trends and green lending practices.
\nExperience working with mobile money, fintech platforms, or agency banking models.
\nStrong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
\nClient-centric mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
\nExcellent communication (written and oral) in English and [French\/Kirundi, as applicable].<\/p>\n
