Job Purpose:
\nResponsible for the overall planning, execution, and delivery of a portfolio of construction projects, oversight of all project phases from initiation to closure, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety, and full compliance with governance.<\/p>\n
Main Responsibilities:
\nProject Lifecycle Management<\/p>\n
Lead the initiation of new projects by defining objectives, scope, and feasibility. Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts.
\nProvide hands-on leadership to the project team during the execution phase. This includes directing daily activities, monitoring progress against the project plan, and controlling scope, budget, and schedule to ensure project goals are met.
\nFormally manage the closure of all projects, including the completion of all contractual obligations, final financial settlements, and the submission of all required documentation.
\nMonitor the performance of all projects under the units portfolio, identify and resolve potential issues.

\nFinancial and Contract Management
\nDevelop and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures and forecast costs to ensure financial targets are met.
\nReview and approve project invoices, change orders, and other financial documents.
\nManage project contracts, ensuring all parties adhere to the terms and conditions.
\nServes as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and provides strategic guidance to the project team.Project Planning and Execution
\nDevelop detailed project plans, including scope definition, timelines, resource allocation, and budget.
\nOversee all stages of the project lifecycle, including procurement, construction, and closeout.
\nEnsure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
\nMaintain and update at regular intervals the project design and document templates
\nFinancial and Contract Management
\nReview and approve project invoices, change orders, and other financial documents.
\nManage project contracts, ensuring all parties adhere to the terms and conditions.Stakeholder Communication and Management
\nAct as the primary point of communication between the project team, Consultants, contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
\nProvide regular project updates, status reports, and presentations to senior management.
\nProactively address stakeholder concerns and manage expectations.
\nEstablish relevant project governance and communication structures for all designated projects
\nServe diligently as chairperson of the project working committee and secretary of the project steering committee for all designated projects
\nManage consultants and contractors.Team Management and Development
\nLead, manager, motivate, and support the construction projects management unit, including supervising Project Managers and Project Officers.
\nCoach and provide guidance and direction to the team to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
\nConduct performance evaluations for the Project Managers and Project Officers under their supervision.
\nFacilitate team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.
\nProvide mentorship and professional development opportunities to the Project team.Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
\nBuy vitamins and supplements<\/p>\n
Ensure all projects adhere to the Banks\u2019s policies, procedures and standards.
\nConduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance and address any safety concerns.
\nPromote a culture of safety and accountability within the team.<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills:<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge of construction processes, industry best practices, and regulations.
\nAdvanced understanding of buildings construction best practices and methodologies
\nDemonstrated experience managing projects of varying sizes and complexities.
\nExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
\nProficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
\nExceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a Construction related field
\nStrong project management background and practical application in the construction industry
\nCertification in one of recognized project management methodologies e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, PMP etc. is a must.
\nPost graduate or Professional qualifications in any construction or engineering discipline will be an added advantage
\nAt least 4 years\u2019 working experience in Construction.
