\nAbout BRAC Enterprises Tanzania Limited (BETL)
\nBRAC is one of the largest providers of non-formal education globally, with schools in Bangladesh for over 30 years and internationally since 2002. BRAC runs a global pre-primary school program in Bangladesh, Tanzania, and Uganda, and is developing markets for early childhood development (ECD) for 3\u20135-year-olds through its \u2018Play Labs\u2019 project in those countries.
\nIn Tanzania, this includes running 30 play labs co-located with the Tanzanian Government and funded through the Yidan Prize. BETL is piloting a cross-subsidy business model for ECD to improve the development of 3\u20135-year-old children in Tanzania. The goal is to catalyze the ECD private sector by developing a sustainable business model for a low-cost, high-quality, and scalable play-based ECD program. The BETL team recently opened five schools and is launching one mobile ECD program in Dar es Salaam.

\nThe\u00a0Operations Officer\u00a0will be crucial in building the financial and operational capacity of\u00a0Angaza Affiliates. The role works closely with Affiliate Heads and Caregivers to strengthen\u00a0compliance, efficiency, and profitability. The Operations Officer supports Affiliates with day-to-day finance and operations, provides\u00a0training and coaching, and ensures each Affiliate is run as a successful business. This position reports to the\u00a0Finance & Operations Manager (FOM)\u00a0and supports the delivery of the wider Angaza Academy business plan.

\nResponsibilities
\n1. Finance Capacity Building & Support<\/p>\n
Train Affiliate Heads and designated staff on BETL financial policies and procedures.
\nSupport Affiliates with record-keeping, fee collection systems, and the use of approved financial tools.
\nReview Affiliate financial records for accuracy and compliance, escalating issues to the FOM.
\nMonitor fee collection rates and support Affiliates to improve profitability.
\nEnsure Affiliate compliance with statutory obligations.
\nProvide on-site coaching to strengthen accountability and reduce financial risks.<\/p>\n
2. Operations Support<\/p>\n
Guide Affiliates to follow BETL operational procedures and internal controls.
\nProvide hands-on support in procurement, stock management, and use of local suppliers to maximize cost-effectiveness.
\nMonitor adherence to BETL safeguarding and quality assurance policies.
\nSupport Affiliates to prepare for audits, inspections, and registrations with government authorities.
\nShare operational best practices across Affiliates to encourage business growth and efficiency.<\/p>\n
3. Logistics and Facilities<\/p>\n
Support Affiliates and FOM in arranging cost-effective procurement and delivery of materials.
\nMonitor and advise on building maintenance, safety, and compliance.
\nAssist with Affiliate registration processes and liaison with relevant authorities, under FOM guidance.
\nSupport logistics for Affiliate meetings and training.<\/p>\n
4. Reporting & Collaboration<\/p>\n
Prepare regular reports on Affiliate business performance for the FOM.
\nProvide feedback on challenges and opportunities to improve Affiliate profitability.
\nCollaborate with other BETL teams (Quality, HR, Marketing) to provide joined-up business support.
\nAct as the first point of contact for Affiliate finance\/operations issues, escalating complex matters to the FOM.<\/p>\n
Required Skills \/ Capacity<\/p>\n
At least\u00a01-year experience in finance\/operations support, preferably in a multi-site or franchise\/affiliate context.
\nStrong training and coaching skills; ability to build capacity at the grassroots level.
\nKnowledge of\u00a0financial record-keeping, basic accounting, and compliance requirements in Tanzania.
\nStrong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
\nWillingness to\u00a0travel regularly\u00a0to Affiliate centres.<\/p>\n
