\nThe Bank is seeking to appoint a Director of Operations, a dynamic and strategic leader, to join its Executive Management Team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this critical role will spearhead large-scale operational and digital transformation initiatives, aimed at enhancing efficiency, innovation, and customer experience across the organization.
\nRole Overview
\nThe ideal candidate will be a visionary executive with a comprehensive understanding of banking operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance. They will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for the bank\u2019s end-to-end operations, ensuring operational excellence, adherence to regulatory requirements, and support for sustainable business growth.
\nKey Roles and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Strategic Leadership: Design and execute the bank\u2019s operations strategy, aligning it with overarching corporate goals. Drive digitalization, process optimization, and the adoption of emerging technologies.
\nOperational Governance: Oversee core functions including Operations and Information Technology, ensuring seamless, efficient, and risk-conscious service delivery. Establish strong governance frameworks to guarantee compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements.
\nCustomer Excellence: Champion a customer-centric culture across all operational touchpoints, ensuring superior service delivery and operational agility.
\nPeople Leadership: Lead, inspire, and develop high-performing, multi-functional teams. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
\nStakeholder Engagement: Act as a key advisor to the Managing Director and the Board. Cultivate strong relationships with regulators, technology partners, and industry bodies, representing the bank at high-level forums.<\/p>\n
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience<\/p>\n
A Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, ICT, or a related field. A Master\u2019s degree (e.g., MBA) will be a significant advantage.
\nA minimum of 12 years\u2019 progressive leadership experience in banking\/financial services, with at least 5 years in an executive management role overseeing operations and technology functions.
\nA proven track record of leading large-scale operational and digital transformation initiatives.
\nStrong knowledge of banking regulatory frameworks, governance, risk, and compliance requirements.
\nExceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
\nOutstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with demonstrated experience engaging at board and regulatory levels.
\nA deep understanding of the Tanzanian banking and financial ecosystem and an established professional network.<\/p>\n
