Are you experienced in post-harvest operations and passionate about delivering top-quality produce to international markets? We\u2019re seeking a\u00a0Packhouse Manager\u00a0to lead and oversee all packhouse activities \u2014 from receiving and grading to packing and dispatch \u2014 ensuring products meet the highest export and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational, quality control, and team management skills.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Supervise daily packhouse operations, including receiving, grading, packing, cooling, and dispatch.
\nDevelop and implement production schedules to meet export timelines and quality targets.
\nEnsure equipment is properly maintained and operating efficiently.
\nMonitor production flow, throughput, and labor efficiency to optimize performance.
\nOversee quality assurance to ensure all products meet customer specifications.
\nWork closely with quality teams, agronomists, and logistics partners to resolve quality issues.
\nLead and coordinate supervisors, line leaders, graders, packers, and casual workers.
\nCollaborate with logistics and export teams to ensure timely dispatch and documentation.
\nMaintain accurate records of production volumes, rejects, and dispatch reports.
\nGenerate weekly and monthly performance reports for management review.
\nSupport internal and external audits by certification bodies and export authorities.
\nIdentify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance quality and reduce costs.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, or Industrial Management.
\nMinimum 5 years of experience in packhouse or post-harvest management \u2014 preferably in avocado or fresh produce export.
\nStrong knowledge of export market requirements and food safety systems.
\nProven ability to manage large teams and coordinate across departments.
\nExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
\nProficiency in MS Office, ERP, and production tracking software.<\/p>\n
