\nPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
\nTo provide technical support in occupational hygiene by conducting workplace surveys, sampling, and hazard analysis, monitoring exposure to physical, chemical, and biological agents, and assisting in implementing effective control measures to protect employee health and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
\n\u00a0
\nQUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in environmental management, environmental Science or any other related field.
\nThe incumbent must hold a valid Tanzania driving license and be proficient in driving light vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u00a0
\nEXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
Minimum of 2 years\u2019 working experience as an Occupational or Industrial Hygienist, or as an Occupational Hygiene Technician.<\/p>\n

\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
Competent in handling and use of occupational hygiene equipment.
\nKnowledgeable in occupational health and hygiene standards and regulations.
\nAble to provide guidance and technical advice on occupational hygiene matters.
\nStrong external relations and stakeholder engagement skills.
\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
\nKnowledge of compliance and governance, including NOHSC 1 & 2 standards.
\nTeam player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
\nDemonstrates integrity, professionalism, and commitment to workplace safety.<\/p>\n

\nMAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/p>\n
Prepare dust filters, labelling, and conduct the dust pre and post weigh in the gravimetric dust lab.
\nTake gravimetric pumps and other sampling\/measuring instruments to the fields where people are working.
\nMaintains, operates, and calibrates a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment.
\nEvaluates and interprets monitoring and sampling results, makes determinations, and develops corrective strategies.
\nPrepares accurate and complete reports of survey findings and provides recommendations on how to correct hazardous conditions.
\nEvaluate the long-term effect of exposure to health hazards in order to develop cost effective plans for addressing such situations
\nDetermines effectiveness of engineering control methods and makes recommendations regarding location, design, structure, operations, and maintenance of contaminant and physical agent control systems.
\nCheck compliance in terms of PPE and adherence to the Occupational Hygiene
\nReview operational procedures to identify processes which are detrimental to health.
\nAssesses workplace for occupational health hazards by observing work conditions, assessing records, conducting interviews, sampling and monitoring chemical or physical agents.<\/p>\n
