\nPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:\u00a0
\nThe purpose of this role is to provide technical and metallurgical support to ensure that the Process Plant achieves maximum metallurgical efficiency. The role is responsible for monitoring and optimizing plant performance, supporting production teams with technical expertise, and contributing to process improvements through data analysis, metallurgical test work, and operational initiatives.
\nQUALIFICATIONS:\u00a0
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mineral Processing Engineering \/Metallurgy and Mineral Processing Engineering.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 Must be registered with the Tanzania Engineers\u2019 Registration Board (ERB).<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE:
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0A minimum of four (4) years hands-on experience in mineral processing, preferably in gold processing operations (CIL\/Gravity circuits).
\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Sound exposure to metallurgical test work, plant optimization techniques.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Basic knowledge of comminution, classification, leaching, elution, and electrowinning operations.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Familiarity with metallurgical software for mass balancing, simulation, and process control will be an advantage.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Demonstrated ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and recommend improvements.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Ability to monitor reagent and consumable usage to support cost efficiency.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Preparing clear reports, technical notes, and recommendations for plant improvements.

\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0 Apply sound knowledge of process control loops, digitalization, and laboratory management in plant operations.

Technical Support & Plant Optimization
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Perform metallurgical activities aimed at achieving optimal plant efficiency across comminution, gravity separation, leaching, and elution circuits.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting reports to track performance and efficiency.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Conduct circuit modelling, mass balances, and plant simulations to assess process sensitivity scenarios.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Apply process control loop techniques to enhance plant stability and performance.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Collect, analyses, and interpret metallurgical data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Support water quality monitoring in collaboration with the Water Treatment Plant team to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Monitor and optimize plant reagent usage and consumables to achieve cost-effective performance.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Conduct plant performance reviews and metallurgical unit operation assessments to drive improvements.<\/p>\n
Metallurgical Test Work & Research\u00a0
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Conduct metallurgical sampling, survey exercises, and instrument calibrations.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Perform metallurgical test work in the Mineral Processing Laboratory, including ore characterization and response testing, to support process improvements.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Participate in geometallurgical studies to understand ore variability and its impact on processing performance.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Manage metallurgical inventory measurements to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, including laboratory management and the adoption of new technologies.<\/p>\n
