\nJob Title; Driver Transit (15 Post) Job Summary:
\nA Transit Drivers are responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods between company facilities, distribution centers, and client locations. This role requires strong driving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will ensure all cargo is properly secured, adhere to traffic and safety regulations, and complete all required documentation accurately.

\nKey Responsibilities:
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Safe and Timely Transportation\u00a0o Operate company vehicles to transport goods, materials, and products safely from one location to another.<\/p>\n
Ensure timely pick-up and delivery of consignments according to schedule.<\/p>\n
Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection\u00a0o Conduct pre-trip, route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure proper working condition.<\/p>\n
Report any vehicle defects, damages, or malfunctions immediately to the supervisor.
\nPerform basic maintenance such as checking oil, water, and tire pressure.<\/p>\n
Compliance and Documentation<\/p>\n
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
\nMaintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, fuel receipts, and other relevant documentation.
\nEnsure all delivery paperwork is signed and properly handled.<\/p>\n
Loading and Unloading Support<\/p>\n
Assist in loading and unloading goods as required.
\nEnsure goods are securely fastened and protected to avoid damage during transit.<\/p>\n
Communication\u00a0o Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status.<\/p>\n
Report any delays, accidents, or unusual events during transit immediately.<\/p>\n
Customer Service\u00a0o Interact professionally with clients and customers.<\/p>\n
Handle any customer concerns politely and escalate when necessary.<\/p>\n
Route Planning\u00a0o Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize delivery times and fuel consumption.<\/p>\n
Use GPS or other navigation tools effectively.<\/p>\n
Safety and Security\u00a0o Ensure the safety of cargo and the vehicle at all times.<\/p>\n
Follow security protocols to prevent theft or loss of goods.<\/p>\n
Qualification:
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Education and Licensing<\/p>\n
Certificate of Ordinary level Education o Valid driving license with\u00a0Class E.
\nClean driving record.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Prior driving experience, especially with large vehicles, is often preferred.
\nExperience in customer service roles is an asset.<\/p>\n
Skills and Attributes\u00a0o Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws. o Strong communication and interpersonal skills. o Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies calmly.<\/p>\n
Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspection.
\nPhysical ability to assist passengers and perform vehicle checks.<\/p>\n
Background and Health Checks\u00a0o Must pass criminal background checks and drug\/alcohol testing.<\/p>\n
