Our unit is responsible for business development, client relationship management, operational oversight, team coordination, and strategic engagement with both internal and external stakeholders. The County Officer plays a pivotal and highly versatile role in IFC\u2019s country operations. Tasks span business development, client relationship management, operational oversight, team coordination, and strategic engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.<br \/>\nRole Responsibilities:<br \/>\n\u2022 Lead the development and implementation of IFC\u2019s country strategy for CAETZ, ensuring alignment with IFC\u2019s strategic priorities and the World Bank Group\u2019s country partnership framework.<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify and develop investment and advisory opportunities that promote private sector development, economic growth, and job creation in the region.<br \/>\n\u2022 Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, private sector stakeholders, development partners, and civil society to foster collaboration and advance IFC\u2019s mission.<br \/>\n\u2022 Conduct market analysis and sector assessments to identify barriers to private sector investment and propose actionable solutions to address them.<br \/>\n\u2022 Oversee the origination, structuring, and execution of investment projects, ensuring compliance with IFC\u2019s standards and policies, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.<br \/>\n\u2022 Monitor and evaluate the performance of IFC\u2019s portfolio in the region, identifying risks and opportunities to optimize development impact and financial returns.<br \/>\n\u2022 Represent IFC in high-level discussions, conferences, and events to advocate for private sector-led development and promote IFC\u2019s role in the region.<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that drives results.<br \/>\n\u2022 Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and briefings for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in IFC\u2019s operations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Contribute to knowledge sharing and capacity building initiatives to strengthen local institutions and enhance private sector capabilities in CAETZ.<br \/>\nSelection Criteria<br \/>\n\u2022 Advanced degree (Master\u2019s or equivalent) in finance, economics, business administration, international development, or a related field.<br \/>\n\u2022 Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in development finance, investment banking, private equity, or related fields, with a proven track record of structuring and executing complex financial transactions.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated expertise in analyzing financial statements, conducting due diligence, and assessing investment risks in emerging markets.<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong knowledge of private sector development, including familiarity with IFC\u2019s strategic priorities, products, and services.<br \/>\n\u2022 Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, private sector leaders, and development partners.<br \/>\n\u2022 Proven ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams and build relationships across organizational boundaries.<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and provide actionable recommendations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated commitment to promoting sustainable development and addressing challenges in emerging markets.<br \/>\n\u2022 High level of adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.<br \/>\n\u2022 A good understanding of Tanzania\u2019s economic and political contexts, as well as knowledge of Sub-Saharan Africa\u2019s political economy.<br \/>\n\u2022 Fluency in English, with proficiency in Swahili, is considered an asset.<br \/>\nWBG Culture Attributes:<br \/>\n1.
