\nResponsibilities\u00a0<\/p>\n
Provide leadership and direction to the mine operations team.
\nEnsure the Mine Production Superintendent, Manager and Mine Supervisors are provided with consistent leadership at all times.
\nEnsure the operation meets safety targets through support of the lead indicator systems and enforcement of standard operating procedures.\u00a0
\nEnsure the operation meets production targets through support of the planning systems, particularly daily, weekly and monthly planning and reporting.
\nFoster a team working environment to ensure cooperation between departments.
\nDevelop mine team workforce and mentor potential successors for the position.
\nProvide leadership and support to the Continuous Improvement program and Training group, who report to this position
\nDaily record-keeping of completed work
\nEnsure site is set up correctly and in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
\nReport all observed environmental incidents and non-compliances
\nMaximize the use of environmentally friendly and recyclable products.
\nFull compliance with the project environmental management plan
\nComplete Environmental training module within the maintenance skills matrix program
\nProvide Environmental leadership by always setting a good example
\nReport all incidents of loss to protective services immediately\u00a0
\nSupport the investigation and follow up action of all loss incidents.
\nEnsure that Security becomes a core focus of others within the team.
\nEnsure team members are aware of their accountability towards security.\u00a0
\nActive involvement in Security action groups where required<\/p>\n
Qualification requirements<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree\/ Diploma in Mining Engineering
\nPrevious experience and knowledge of underground utility construction a must
\nMinimum of five (5) years\u2019 experience in a mine production supervisory role
\nKnowledge and understanding of reading drawings and ability to follow specifications<\/p>\n
Experience and competencies needed.<\/p>\n
Extensive experience in underground mining operation or large-scale civil engineering projects
\nThe strong ability to form effective working relationships that allow achievement of job requirements,<\/p>\n
