\nPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:\u00a0
\nTo operate the Milling Circuit in accordance with GGM\u2019s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve the targets set by the Process Plant Management. The role holder is expected to strictly adhere to all GGM Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures during milling operations. Additionally, the role requires full compliance with the GGM Code of Conduct, including observance of all security protocols within the plant and across the mine site.

\nQUALIFICATIONS:
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Ordinary level for secondary education or above.
\n\u00a0
\nEXPERIENCE:
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0A minimum of 3 years of working experience in the process plant environment.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0General background in crushing, milling and\/or processing preferred.
\n\u00a0
\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems at milling.
\n\u00a0

\nSafety Health and Environment
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment by ensuring proper disposal of waste, preventing spillage, securing tools and hoses, and keeping all equipment neatly arranged.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Identify and report safety hazards, inspect and monitor gas levels, and test emergency equipment like safety shower.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Adhere to PPE requirements and ensure all high-risk tasks are covered under valid permit to work procedures (eg, confined space, handrail removed)
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Maintain strict compliance with site safety standards and procedures.
\nOperational Units
\nSag &Ball Mills
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Inspect for leaks, abnormal sounds and vibration, report faults.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Monitor and adjust mill speed and load with the control room.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Ensure scats chutes and bunkers are clear.
\nHopper & Discharge pumps
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Maintain hopper levels and clear build-ups.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Control spillage and ensure proper sump pump directions.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Test and switch discharge pumps as schedule; avoid bogging during shutdown.
\nGearbox & Lubrication
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Check gearbox vibration\/noise and report irregularities.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Monitor lube oil levels, leaks, and operate pumps as needed.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Handle oil spills per GGM procedures.
\nSpillage Pumps
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Inspect for performance, condition, and availability.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Ensure proper discharge line routing.
\nMill Operations & Density Control
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Start and stop the SAG mill, and Ball mill, and discharge pumps according to GGM operating procedures and control room instructions.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Monitor and record mill discharge densities (SAG and Ball) per log sheet to ensure optimal performance.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Manually adjust milling water and feed water valves to control density and hopper levels as advised.
\nWater Management
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Monitor and maintain water ponds levels; prevent overflows and ensure raw water pond remains above 80%
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Ensure emergency sump pumps are always operational and in automatic mode.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Top up cooling water tanks and clean pump filters as per schedule.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Inspect and report the condition and performance of process, high-pressure, and raw water pumps.
\nSpillage Management
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Immediately report any spillage to the control room or shift supervisor.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Clean and hose down spillage areas to maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
\nPlanned tasks & Documentation
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Perform scheduled tasks as assigned by the senior supervisor through the weekly plan.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Ensure QQTR tasks are fully explained, executed and job cards completed and signed off.
\n\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0Submit all records and inspections sheets timely and accurately.
