\nSwissaid is a Swiss-based international development organization committed to promoting sustainable livelihoods, gender equality, and social justice. In Tanzania, Swissaid works to empower smallholder farmers particularly women and youth to adopt sustainable agricultural practices and improve their economic and social well-being.
\nPurpose of the Position
\nThe Senior Programme Coordinator will lead the implementation of Country Programme 2025 \u2013 2028 specifically\u00a0Outcome 1:\u00a0\u00a0Agroecological Transformation of Food Systems.\u00a0The role includes providing technical leadership in agroecology, coordinating programme activities, supporting partners, mentoring staff, and ensuring effective, inclusive, and accountable delivery of results. The position is offered for initial two years, subject to renewal upon satisfactory performance.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Lead and guide SWISSAID agroecology team to achieve sustainable and inclusive outcomes.
\nRepresent SWISSAID in dialogues and partnerships on agroecology and food systems transformation.
\nCoordinate, monitor, and evaluate programme implementation with strong gender and youth integration.
\nProvide technical backstopping on ecological farming and support the development of practical training materials.
\nStrengthen collaboration and capacity among partner organizations and beneficiaries.
\nEnsure accurate, transparent, and timely financial and narrative reporting.
\nSupport fundraising, proposal development, and research activities.
\nSupervise and mentor programme staff, promoting a culture of teamwork, respect, and inclusion.
\nMainstream gender equality, disability inclusion, youth empowerment, and climate resilience across all projects.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Master\u2019s degree in agriculture, Rural Development, Environmental Studies, or related field.
\nAt least 5 years\u2019 experience in programme or project coordination in sustainable agriculture or livelihoods.
\nProven expertise in agroecology and gender-responsive rural development.
\nExperience working with NGOs, partners management, and government stakeholders.
\nStrong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
\nProficiency in digital tools and willingness to travel to rural project areas.<\/p>\n
