\nJob Purpose:
\nTo oversee the day-to-day operations, performance, and maintenance of the Tipper and Specialized Equipment fleet, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of materials and heavy loads between quarries, construction sites, and clients. The role ensures compliance with company procedures, optimizes asset utilization, and drives performance against key operational KPIs.

\nKey Responsibilities:
\nFleet Operations Management (Tippers & Specialized Equipment)<\/p>\n
Plan, assign, and monitor all trips for tippers and specialized trucks (low beds, side loader, recovery truck).
\nEnsure adherence to loading and offloading procedures, trip documentation (loading slips, PODs), and GPS-monitored routes.
\nCoordinate with quarry\/site supervisors for smooth loading and delivery.
\nMonitor trip progress and handle operational challenges in real time (breakdowns, route deviations, etc.).
\nEnsure specialized operations (oversized loads, recovery, container handling) are executed safely and efficiently.<\/p>\n
Performance and Cost Control<\/p>\n
Track and report key performance indicators (trips, tonnage, fuel efficiency, utilization, maintenance costs).
\nMonitor fuel consumption and prevent fuel pilferage or misuse through daily reconciliations.
\nAnalyze trip data to identify cost-saving and productivity improvement opportunities.
\nEnsure proper reconciliation of loading\/offloading slips and timely submission to Finance for invoicing.\u00a0Fleet Maintenance and Compliance
\nCoordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all vehicles are serviced as per schedule and kept roadworthy.
\nReport and follow up on mechanical issues, breakdowns, and maintenance costs per truck\/job.
\nEnsure compliance with transport safety standards, load limits, and road permit regulations for abnormal loads.<\/p>\n
People and Resource Management<\/p>\n
Supervise and support fleet supervisors, operators, and fuel\/GPS controllers.
\nMonitor driver\/operator discipline, performance, and attendance.
\nConduct on-the-job coaching to improve performance and reduce operational risks.
\nEnsure availability of skilled specialized equipment operators through training and competency checks.\u00a0Reporting and Documentation
\nMaintain accurate records of trips, fuel, maintenance, permits, and performance logs.
\nSubmit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on fleet utilization, costs, and performance trends.
\nSupport the Transport Manager in planning budgets, cost reviews, and performance analysis.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
\nMinimum 3 years\u2019 experience managing heavy-duty trucks, tippers, or specialized transport equipment.
\nStrong knowledge of GPS systems, fuel management, and maintenance scheduling.
\nExperience in quarry, construction, or logistics fleet operations preferred.
\nFamiliarity with transport permits, safety standards, and road regulations.<\/p>\n
