\nBulyanhulu\u00a0Gold Mine\u202fis\u00a0seeking\u00a0to recruit\u202fa\u00a0Senior\u00a0Geotechnical\u00a0Engineer;\u00a0the\u00a0role\u00a0is responsible for\u00a0ensuring the short term and short-term stability of surface and underground excavations through provision of technical rock engineering and Geomechanics\u00a0expertise\u00a0into mine designs and layouts. The incumbent will work with the Geotechnical Superintendent \u2013 Tanzania, to provide geotechnical engineering support services to the mines\u2019 production personnel.\u00a0to join and grow\u00a0our\u00a0team.\u00a0\u00a0

\nResponsibilities:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ensuring all tasks or activities are executed and aligned with\u00a0safety standard\u00a0operating procedures and safe work instructions at all times.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ensure the safety of all underground personnel from geotechnical hazards.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Undertaking of geotechnical data collection\u00a0programmes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Geotechnical design and modelling studies and providing input for mine planning and design, to ensure mine stability for short and long-term planning,\u00a0<\/p>\n
Conducting Geotechnical inspections of mine development, open stopes and pillar behavior, and the impact on mine infrastructure, mine planning, ore extraction, and underground control systems,\u00a0<\/p>\n
Assessing seismic responses to mining and managing seismic hazards,\u00a0<\/p>\n
Maintaining procedures,\u00a0processes\u00a0and databases for all geotechnical functions, including ground support, ground deformation\u00a0monitoring\u00a0and training,\u00a0<\/p>\n
Identifying\u00a0and\u00a0assisting\u00a0with the implementation of business improvement opportunities,\u00a0<\/p>\n
Assist the Geotechnical Manager to complete BGML\u2019s employee performance management processes to ensure\u00a0optimum\u00a0employee performance and take\u00a0appropriate action\u00a0to remedy any substandard employee performance or behavior.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Act as a liaison between planning and operations departments coordinating rock mechanical engineering efforts towards short-term\u00a0objectives.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Qualification\u00a0Requirements:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in mining engineering or Geological Engineering\u00a0degree,\u00a0preferably with a specialization in Ground Control, Geotechnical Engineering or Rock Mechanics.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Must have a minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in underground mining environment\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Must have a minimum of 5 years post graduate industry underground mining experience preferably in precious metals using narrow vein long hole\u00a0stoping\u00a0<\/p>\n
Must have a valid driving license and be able to drive a light vehicle in\u00a0an underground\u00a0environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\nExperience\u00a0and Skills Requirements:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Proficiency\u00a0with geotechnical design software such as FLAC3D, Dips,\u00a0Unwedge, RS2, RS3, Map3D and\u00a0Deswik\u00a0mine design;\u00a0<\/p>\n
Proficiency\u00a0with Ticker3D, Trace and\u00a0mXrap\u00a0<\/p>\n
Able to work with limited supervision.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Good interpersonal skills with contractors and\u00a0mine\u00a0personnel.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Good written and verbal communication skills.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Able to work safely and not create or ignore hazards.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Cultural and religious awareness and tolerance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
High degree of patience and tolerance.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
