This project (part of the multi-country RISE project) will support the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) and the President\u2019s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government Tanzania (PO-RALG) alongside the\u00a0Zanzibar Malaria Elimination Program (ZAMEP) in Zanzibar\u00a0to implement activities to reduce malaria morbidity and maternal and child mortality.<br \/>\nThe position will operate under the leadership of the RISE-Tanzania Chief of Party and with technical implementation teams based in the regions\/Zanzibar to ensure the project progresses towards expected results. S\/he will also work with M&amp;E staff to ensure project deliverables are monitored and course corrections are identified and implemented as appropriate. In collaboration with project team and partners, the position will support the design and implementation of service delivery strategies based on scientific evidence and serve as the technical liaison with the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP). Other key responsibilities include supervising technical staff and adjusting project activities based on monitoring at the regional and district level.<br \/>\nThis position will be closed on December 14, 2025<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the project\u2019s technical assistance efforts, ensuring the integration, quality and sustainability of interventions<br \/>\nProvide day-to-day technical oversight into design, planning and implementation of activities in support of project goals and objectives<br \/>\nEstablish and implement a system to ensure technical quality of project activities and fidelity across target regions and districts<br \/>\nDevelop and\/or update evidence-based training materials, standards, job aids, and curricula, supervisory systems needed for implementation of the project to meet the needs of DOS and the Governments of Tanzania and Zanzibar<br \/>\nActively participate in relevant technical advisory\/working groups and professional forums representing Jhpiego<br \/>\nIdentify appropriate facility- and community-based strategies and lead the formulation of innovative approaches to address malaria control, treatment and prevention interventions<br \/>\nProvide mentoring and capacity building at the individual and organizational level in specific areas of expertise including but not limited to:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Health systems strengthening<br \/>\n\u00a0Maternal, Newborn and Child Health<br \/>\n\u00a0Malaria case diagnosis, treatment and prevention including malaria vaccination<br \/>\n\u00a0Routine distribution of ITNs<br \/>\n\u00a0Laboratory diagnostic capacity strengthening<\/p>\n<p>Job Posting Service<\/p>\n<p>Identify training needs for clinical and community healthcare providers and assist in the design and implementation of measures to address those needs<br \/>\nWork closely with the Chief of Party on setting project priorities and directions, and responding to requests for support from local counterparts<br \/>\nWork with M&amp;E staff to design, implement a plan to track data\/results related to malaria control, treatment and prevention to inform adjustments in project implementation<br \/>\nCollaborate with all local stakeholders and implementing partners, NMCP and other US and international implementing partners, to ensure that all activities conform to the requirements and regulations<br \/>\nDocument successes, lessons learned and challenges in implementation as well as reports of project activities and results to the project and donor, including routine quarterly and annual reports and other reporting requirements as requested<br \/>\nAuthor\/co-author abstracts, presentations, and articles for journals and conferences<br \/>\nSupervising technical staff<br \/>\nManage technical contributions of subgrantees, including defining scopes of work<br \/>\nMaintain excellent relationships with DOS and in-country stakeholders and develop rapid responses<\/p>\n<p>Provide technical leadership to the development of the project strategic plan, work plan, and project monitoring, in close collaboration with NMCP, ZAMEP, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure timely implementation and compliance to the requirements and regulations of the award.<\/p>\n<p>Required Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>A clinical degree (doctor, nursing, midwifery), with Master of Public Health is required.<br \/>\nAt least 9- 10 years\u2019 experience implementing and\/or providing technical assistance for malaria control and elimination projects, with specialized knowledge and experience in at least one of the following:<\/p>\n<p>malaria prevention including malaria in pregnancy services (i.e., intermittent preventative treatment of malaria in pregnancy [IPTp]; malaria immunization<br \/>\nroutine distribution of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) during vaccination clinics for children under five and ante-natal care (ANC) visits.<br \/>\nmalaria diagnosis through rapid diagnostic test (RDT)<br \/>\nlaboratory diagnostic capacity strengthening, including microscopy.<br \/>\nmalaria case management particularly for pregnant women and children under five;<\/p>\n<p>At least 8 years\u2019 experience in implementing and\/or providing technical assistance to large, donor-funded multi-year-old international health sector projects that have implemented activities in malaria prevention and control<br \/>\nDemonstrated experience training clinical and community-based healthcare workers in malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment<br \/>\nDemonstrated experience strengthening facility- and community-level case reporting, addressing provider behaviors, conducting operational research, and strengthening technical leadership at the national and provincial levels.<br \/>\nDemonstrated in-depth understanding of the healthcare system in Tanzania, particularly the public health system;
