Training Strategy &amp; Planning<br \/>\nDevelop and execute an annual Training and Development Strategy aligned with mine\u2019s operational objectives.<br \/>\nConduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for all departments.<br \/>\nDevelop a comprehensive skills matrix and competency roadmap for all critical roles.<br \/>\nSupport localization and succession planning through targeted capability programs.<br \/>\nB. Competency Management<br \/>\nImplement and manage competency-based training frameworks (CBT\/CBM).<br \/>\nEnsure all employees achieve and maintain competency for their positions (including machinery operation, safety, and leadership).<br \/>\nOversee verification of competency (VOC) assessments and maintain updated competency records.<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with Barrick\u2019s Learning and Development systems and global training standards.<br \/>\nC. Safety, Regulatory &amp; Compliance Training<br \/>\nEnsure all statutory training is delivered and tracked (OSHA, MSHA-equivalent, Mining Commission requirements).<br \/>\nManage inductions: Site Induction, Departmental Induction, Contractor Induction.<br \/>\nOversee refresher training schedules for safety-critical roles.<br \/>\nLiaise with relevant authorities (OSHA, Mineral Resources, VETA, NACTVET) to maintain compliance.<br \/>\nD. Learning Programs &amp; Delivery<br \/>\nDesign and implement internal learning programs, including leadership development, supervisory training, and soft skills.<br \/>\nDevelop and deliver high quality training materials (e-learning, facilitator-led, blended).<br \/>\nIdentify and manage external training providers, ensuring value for money and quality.<br \/>\nSupport talent initiatives such as graduate programs, IPT\/apprenticeship programs, and mentorship initiatives.<br \/>\nE. Training Administration &amp; Systems Management<br \/>\nManage the site Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure all training data is accurate and up to date.<br \/>\nProduce weekly, monthly, and quarterly training reports and dashboards.<br \/>\nMaintain compliance with audits (internal, corporate, regulator).<br \/>\nManage training budget, procurement, and cost control.<br \/>\nF. People Leadership &amp; Stakeholder Engagement<br \/>\nLead and mentor the Training team to deliver high performance.<br \/>\nCollaborate with department heads to prioritize and schedule training needs.<br \/>\nDrive a strong learning culture across departments, including operators, artisans, supervisors, and management.<br \/>\nEngage community and local talent development programs in support of Corporate Social Responsibility and localization.<br \/>\nRoles and Responsibilities on Health and Safety<br \/>\nDrive and maintain MRM\u2019s Journey to Zero programs.<br \/>\nEnsure all team members are aware of and committed to their DUTY of CARE responsibilities.<br \/>\nEnsure all critical controls have been implemented and confirmed on any task involving Fatal Risk.<br \/>\nComplete at least 2x Critical Control Verifications per week, conduct safety audits and interactions.<br \/>\nEnsure all team members are provided a safe working environment including working tools &amp; PPE.<br \/>\nEnsure all NMGM safe work practices and procedures are followed at all times.<br \/>\nLimit exposure to incidents\/ accidents, encourage near-miss reporting and ensure all accidents or incidents are reported immediately.<br \/>\nEnsure the workforce comply with applicable legislation and site-specific requirements.<br \/>\nActively participate in incident and accident investigations as required (ICAM).<br \/>\nDrive participation in safety management and toolbox meetings.<br \/>\nLead and supervise to ensure field level risk assessments (FLRA) are completed for all new tasks, to a high standard and that all safety hazards are formally raised are addressed.<br \/>\nEnsure that personnel are trained and ticketed for their designated tasks.<br \/>\nCorrect unsafe or workplace conditions that compromise the health of our people.<br \/>\nEnsure that facilities, plant, and equipment are being used safely and for the appropriate work method.<br \/>\nEnsure and maintain compliance to mine planning, design, and profile standards.<br \/>\nEnsure and maintain compliance on based job safety analysis (JHA) completed accurately for every task without a Standard Operating Procedure.<br \/>\nRoles and Responsibilities on EMS<br \/>\nTaking accountability for the effectiveness of the environmental management system<br \/>\nEnsuring that the environmental policy and environmental objectives are established and are compatible with the strategic direction and the context of the organization.<br \/>\nEnsuring that the resources needed for the environmental management system are available<br \/>\nCommunicating the importance of effective environmental management and of conforming to the environmental management system requirements.<br \/>\nEnsuring that the environmental management system achieves its intended outcomes.<br \/>\nDirecting and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the environmental management system.<br \/>\nPromoting continual improvements.<br \/>\nSupporting other relevant management roles to demonstrate their leadership as it applies to their area of responsibility.<br \/>\nQualification requirements<br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s degree in training &amp; development, Education, HR, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).<br \/>\nProfessional certification in Training, L&amp;D, or Competency Management (preferred)\/Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or relevant national equivalent).<br \/>\nStrong knowledge of mining operations, safety regulations, and competency frameworks.<br \/>\nExperience and competencies needed.<br \/>\nMinimum of 5 to 10 years\u2019 experience in Training\/Learning and Development, including at least 5 years in a mining or heavy industrial environment.<br \/>\nExperience with competency-based training systems (CBT\/CBM)\/LMS\/HR systems and digital training tools.<br \/>\nExperience delivering training to diverse workforces, including operators, technicians, and contractors.<br \/>\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.<br \/>\nA valid Driver\u2019s License (manual-class license), experienced driving on a mine site.<br \/>\nExperience working with regulatory training requirements in Tanzania.<br \/>\nKnowledge of ISO standards, risk management, and safety systems.<br \/>\nExperience in open-pit or underground mining environments.<br \/>\nHigh attention to detail with a focus on compliance.<br \/>\nAbility to work under pressure and manage training in a dynamic operational environment.<br \/>\nStrong planning, coordination, and organizational abilities.<br \/>\nLeadership, coaching, and team-building skills<br \/>\nProblem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.<br \/>\nCommitted.
