Job Purpose:
\nResponsible for providing strategic leadership and operational management of the bank\u2019s physical security program. The role ensures protection of the bank\u2019s assets, premises, employees and customers by overseeing security personnel and contracted security services ensuring effective operations of security systems and maintaining compliance with applicable security policies and regulations<\/p>\n
Main Responsibilities:
\nSecurity Strategy and planning<\/p>\n
Design and implement physical security strategies aligned with NMB bank\u2019s physical security policy and BOT guidelines
\nDevelop and update security policies, procedures and contingency plans scenarios like robberies, fire tragedies, natural disaster and civil unrest
\nConduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and threat analysis to identify and address risks.
\nProvide the bank with necessary security intelligence networking on all matters which may affect business including changes in patterns of crime in society ,the country and global
\nManaging security operations
\nOversee the installations, maintenance, and operation of security systems, including CCTV, intrusion detection, access control, and alarms.
\nManage and supervise physical security personnel, Armed Police, officers, private security guards and security service providers, ensuring high performance as per respective service level agreements and adherence to procedures
\nCoordinate security efforts across the network for consistent standards and practices.
\nMonitor daily security operations, assessing security situations to detect risks and advise or implement necessary preventive measures
\nDevelop\/Review physical security systems Installations guideline and monitor its implementation across the bank.
\nEnsure security risk assessments of existing branches\/offices and potential business centers\/sites are conducted and advise appropriate measures to mitigate identified risks.
\nEnsure security Operations support to branches and Head Office building on 24\/7 basis
\nCentral security command center oversight
\nManage the daily operations of the central security command center
\nEnsure effective surveillance and monitoring of critical areas ,branches and offsite ATMS
\nOversee retrieval and secure handling of CCTV footage to support investigations and compliance requirements
\nExecutive residence security coordination
\nCoordinate and oversee security arrangements at the residence of designated bank executives
\nEnsure protocols are in place for both static and mobile protection as required
\nEmergency response and crisis Management
\nLead responses to security emergencies and incidents. Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services and advise the management to make informed decisions .
\nDevelop and implement crisis management plans for emergencies like armed robberies, civil unrest etc.
\nEnsure post-incident investigations are conducted and detailed reports and recommendations are prepared to prevent recurrence.
\nCompliance and Regulatory Oversight
\nEnsure security practices comply with internal physical security policy, The banking and Financial Institutions (Physical security measures) Regulation 2014, other related regulations and international standards
\nLiaise with regulatory bodies and auditors to maintain compliance and address findings.
\nStay updated on security regulations and emerging threats, adapting policies accordingly.
\nTraining and Awareness
\nDesign and conduct security awareness training to employees including emergency procedures, cash handling, security operations of the bank
\nConduct emergency preparedness drills and simulations to test security measures and response protocols and people awareness
\nPromote security awareness, encouraging staff to report suspicious activities and follow policies and procedures.
\nCollaboration and Stakeholder Management
\nCollaborate with the Branch Controls and Quality Assurance, Operational Risk, Audit, and Compliance departments to align Physical Security Operations.
\nAct as the primary security contact by providing updates to Senior management and the board.
\nBudget and Resource Management
\nDevelop and manage the security budget, optimizing resources for personnel and equipment.
\nEvaluate and procure security technologies and services, negotiating cost-effective contracts.
\nMonitor expenditures, implementing cost-saving measures without compromising security and safety.
\nSupporting and conducting investigations
\nEnsure investigation of incidents such as theft, violation of security procedures ,robbery ,damage of property ,accidents
\nEnsure support to forensic\/fraud investigations and resolving internal and external customers and other stakeholders\u2019 queries and requests for CCTV footage and other security logs are attended<\/p>\n

Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in any relevant discipline
\nAt least 4 years\u2019 progressive experience in physical security management preferably in banking or financial sector
\nProven experience in managing large scale , Multi -Site Security operations including remote locations
\nStrong background in regulatory compliance and risk assessment framework
\nExperience of working in Law enforcement authorities such as police ,military is an added advantage
