The position
\nThe\u00a0Aga Khan Education Services in Tanzania\u00a0(AKES, T) operates three schools, from nursery to secondary levels. Each school aims to provide a quality education that imparts a broad set of personal and intellectual skills which develops independent inquiry and critical thinking abilities. The origins of the Aga Khan schools in Tanzania go back to the 19th century when a girls\u2019 school was started around 1905 in Zanzibar by Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah Aga Khan III. The focus of AKES in Tanzania is to implement educational programs that are designed to assist students in acquiring life skills as well as an intellectual foundation that will enable them to make their way confidently in a world increasingly characterized by globalization and technological advancement. To meet the needs of diverse communities, AKES in Tanzania operates schools which run both National and International curricular.

\nLibrarian Assistant Position at AKNPS
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Assist in managing library operations, including cataloguing, shelving, and organizing books and resources.
\nSupport students and staff in locating materials and conducting research and referencing
\nMaintain library inventory and process new acquisitions.
\nPromote reading through displays, events, and literacy programmed.
\nHandle circulation desk duties and basic administrative tasks<\/p>\n
The requirements
\nQualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Diploma or degree in library science, information management, or a related field.
\n1-2 years of experience in a school library setting preferred.
\nStrong organizational skills and familiarity with library software.
\nThe candidate should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of age groups.
\nCommitment and responsible toward work<\/p>\n
