\nZambia Cargo and Logistics Limited (ZCL) is a regional logistics service provider and wholly owned by the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) through the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) with terminals in Tanzania (Dar Es Salaam), Walvis Bay (Namibia) and operating centre in Ndola, Zambia.
\nZambia Cargo and Logistics (ZCL) is inviting applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to be considered for employment to fill the vacant position listed hereunder.
\nSecurity Officer \u2013 1 Post<\/p>\n
(A) Required Qualification<\/p>\n
Certificate or Diploma in security management, criminology, law enforcement, or a related field plus UKT Course Certificate.
\nAt least 3-5 years of experience in a security management role, preferably in an educational or logistics environment.
\nExperience working with security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
\nFamiliarity with risk assessment, emergency preparedness, and crisis management is essential.
\nExperience in managing teams, working with third-party security vendors, and coordinating with local law enforcement.<\/p>\n
(B) Personal Attributes<\/p>\n
Proven knowledge of physical security, surveillance systems, and emergency response.
\nProficiency in risk assessment, crisis management, and compliance with security regulations.
\nAbility to lead and inspire a diverse security team with strong communication and motivation skills.
\nDecision-Making: Confidence in making quick, effective decisions with safety as the top priority.
\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills to convey security policies and report incidents.<\/p>\n
(C) Duties and Responsibilities
\nJob Package Deals<\/p>\n
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to monitor for any unusual activities or security breaches.
\nInspect and monitor access points, including gates and doors, to ensure they are secure compliance and tracking.
\nDevelop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures tailored to the institute\u2019s needs.
\nManage and oversee the installation and operation of security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control).
\nConduct regular risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
\nRespond to security incidents and emergencies, coordinating with internal teams and external agencies when necessary.
\nMaintain an incident reporting system and ensure timely resolution of security breaches.
\nManage a team of security personnel, ensuring they are trained and equipped to handle security operations.
\nConduct regular training and drills for staff on emergency procedures such as evacuation and lockdown.
\nAct as the main point of contact between local law enforcement, security agencies, and emergency services.
\nRegularly brief the management team on the security status and recommend improvements.
\nEnsure compliance with local regulations and industry standards related to safety and security.
\nPrepare detailed reports on security operations, incidents, and preventive measures for the management team.
\nAbility to work efficiently in fast-paced environments and handle physical tasks when required.
\nGood communication skills and the ability to collaborate with warehouse teams, transporters, and supervisors.
\nReliable, punctual, and able to work shifts, weekends, or extended hours as needed.<\/p>\n
