The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km\u2019s from Mwanza City and 20 km\u2019s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. Applications are invited from ambitious, energetic and performance driven individuals to fill in vacant position(s) mentioned below:<br \/>\nPosition: Operator 2 \u2013 Crane<br \/>\nContract type &amp; Duration: Unspecified Time Contract<br \/>\nDepartment: Engineering<br \/>\nReporting to: Cranes &amp; Lifting Supervisor<br \/>\nNumber of Positions: One (01)<br \/>\nGGML is an equal opportunity employer: Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.<br \/>\nPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:<br \/>\nThe role holder is responsible for the correct operation of the crane in accordance with the manufacturer\u2019s instructions and site standards operating procedure.<br \/>\nQUALIFICATIONS:<br \/>\nApprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 in rigging or equivalent.<br \/>\nMust be a registered rigger with approved board.<br \/>\nScaffolding Certification is an added advantage.<br \/>\nMust possess valid Tanzanian Driving License Class E,G &amp; F.<br \/>\nEXPERIENCE:<br \/>\nA Minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience as a Crane Operator in Mining \/ Costruction environment.<br \/>\nHave a good understanding of rules and regulations regarding Lifting Machinery.<br \/>\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<br \/>\nAbility to work with minimum supervision.<br \/>\nExcellent communication skills.<br \/>\nAbility to always demonstrate professionalism in the workplace.<br \/>\nStrong problem-solving skills.<br \/>\nProven Ethical behaviour and integrity.<br \/>\nAbility to work under pressure.<br \/>\nMAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<br \/>\nAdherence to lift plans, JSA\u2019s, take 5 and method statements.<br \/>\nParticipate actively to company strategy regarding safety. Participate in Daily, weekly, monthly &amp; managerial briefs.<br \/>\nUnderstand load weight estimation, centre of gravity, effects of angles on lifting equipment.<br \/>\nCarry out Quarterly colour coding of portable lifting equipment and update registers.<br \/>\nConfirm lifting radius and weights. Ensuring correctly sized equipment is used.<br \/>\nCompletion of work requests.<br \/>\nUndergo Training programs to acquire and maintain certification for operating various lifting machinery.<br \/>\nConduct Crane Lifting Operations in a safe and timely manner.<br \/>\nAdhere to safe working practices and capture of safe working documents, Lift Plans, take 5, JSA\u2019s, Lift Studies, Lifting Permits, Plant Permits and Electrical Isolation Permits and Method Statements.<br \/>\nActively participate in safety meetings and during Toolbox Talks.<br \/>\nTo carry out day to day operations of related tasks to Crane Operators throughout the GGM Mine Complex.<br \/>\nTo conduct day to day operations of related tasks to Rigging Operators throughout the GGM Mine Complex.<br \/>\nExamination of portable lifting equipment before and after use.<br \/>\nQuarantine defective lifting accessories.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
