\nRole Summary
\nThe Fundraising and Partnerships Associate will be responsible for supporting the CEO to execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that ensures the financial sustainability of Silverleaf Academy. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage relationships and create end-to-end systems and structures to support the CEO in fundraising efforts with donors, philanthropic organizations, corporate sponsors, and development agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exemplary time and project management, compelling written and verbal communication, and strategic research skills.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nFundraising Strategy and Execution<\/p>\n
Support the Development Director with a comprehensive fundraising plan that is crafted by the CEO, targeting philanthropic funding from foundations, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), impact investors, and corporate donors.
\nImplementation of an end-to-end fundraising strategy support system.
\nIdentification, research, and engagement of new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and donor networks, to support Silverleaf\u2019s growth.
\nDrafting compelling grant proposals, fundraising campaigns, and donor engagement strategies to increase financial support.
\nCreate proposal templates for ongoing and future grant applications.<\/p>\n
Conference Support<\/p>\n
Conference research and outreach.
\nConference materials creation.
\nCEO conference preparation and post conference follow up.<\/p>\n
Donor Engagement and Relationship Management<\/p>\n
Manage donor records and fundraising progress using CRM software.
\nEnsuring timely engagement, reporting, and stewardship with all donors based on the donor communication calendar
\nOrganize fundraising events, donor briefings, and networking activities to enhance Silverleaf\u2019s visibility and impact.
\nPrepare fundraising reports and updates for board meetings and executive leadership.<\/p>\n
Strategic Partnerships Development and Grants<\/p>\n
Identify and establish strategic partnerships with international development agencies, corporate partners, and education-focused foundations.
\nWhere applicable, represent Silverleaf at relevant conferences, networking events, and donor meetings to increase visibility and advocacy.
\nWrite the first drafts of all grants that Silverleaf is applying to.<\/p>\n
Grant Management and Compliance<\/p>\n
Manage the full grant lifecycle, from research and application to reporting and compliance.
\nCoordinate with finance and program teams to track fund utilization and measure impact.
\nDevelop high-quality impact reports and presentations for donors and stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Business Administration, International Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
\nMinimum of 1 year of experience through internships or jobs at a nonprofit organization
\nAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
\nAbility to create and manage multi-stream work plans.
\nAbility to manage scheduling for a dynamic CEO.
\nAbility to create engaging marketing and communication materials.
\nProven ability to drive and meet ambitious KPIs.
\nExcellent written and verbal English communication skills
\nPreferable Experience in grant writing and proposal development.
\nPreferable- Understanding of donor landscapes, including HNWIs, foundations, CSR initiatives, and international development agencies.
\nPreferable- Strong negotiation, networking, and relationship management skills.
\nPassion for education, social impact, and Silverleaf\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n
Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n
Experience working in East Africa or with education-focused organizations.
\nExposure to social entrepreneurship, impact investing, or startup financing.
\nFamiliarity with fundraising software and CRM systems. Fluency in English and Kiswahili is an added advantage.<\/p>\n

Compensation and Benefits<\/p>\n
$1,000 USD stipend per month
\nFor Tanzanian candidates, access to NHIF and NSSF
\nOption to live on-campus for the duration of the contract in a small one-bedroom, shared apartment with access to electricity, a kitchen, and internet in Usa River, Arusha, Tanzania<\/p>\n
