Ifakara Health Institute is looking a Field Worker who will be based at Bagamoyo Branch to support Transmission Zero Project in conducting research activities on mosquito borne diseases and its surveillance.<\/p>\n
Responsibility:
\nResponsibilities<\/p>\n
To conduct research based on mosquito borne diseases and its surveillance.
\nEnsure all data and samples collected from the experiments are properly recorded and stored.
\nTo comply with adherence to mosquito borne diseases and surveillance project implementation protocol.
\nTo support M&E teams on generating summaries and reports emanating from mosquito surveillance implementation data for guiding operations.
\nTo ensure systematic and proper handling and management of data.
\nTo support Field Supervisor\/Researc.h Officer in data analysis and report writing.
\nTo assist with any other duties as directed by project investigator.<\/p>\n
Skill :
\nRequired Skills<\/p>\n
Good in laboratory and semi-field rearing of mosquito colonies.
\nMosquito sorting using identification keys.
\nMosquito dissection by using kits.
\nField mosquito trapping using different traps.
\nFamiliarity with research conducted at IHI based on malaria vector control will be an added advantage.
\nComputer skills (Microsoft office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,). Skills on STATA, R Studio etc. will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Qualification Required:
\nEssential Qualification<\/p>\n
Holder of Secondary Education or Certificate or Diploma of sciences in Laboratory Technology or any other related field.<\/p>\n
Experience :
\nRequired Experience<\/p>\n
A candidate must have 2 years\u2019 research experience in vector control and biology and rearing laboratory mosquito colonies.<\/p>\n
Preferred Language Skill :
\nPreffered Language<\/p>\n
Fluent both writting and verbal (English & Swahili)<\/p>\n
