\nReinsurance Associate \u2013 (2600000J)
\nJob Purpose and Key responsibilities
\nJob purpose:
\nThe job holder will be responsible assisting in streamlining the development and management of reinsurance activities in accordance with the company\u2019s underwriting and reinsurance policy and standards to meet and exceed customers and shareholders expectations.
\nKey responsibilities:
\nAssist Analyse the risks accepted and ensure risks are ceded properly.
\nAssist in ensuring that all acceptances are protected by proper reinsurance arrangement on a back to back basis without any gaps in risks accepted and reinsurance protection availed.
\nObtain all necessary underwriting information required to place the risk in the local reinsurance market.
\nAssist in arranging proper reinsurance protection as and when required.
\nPlace reinsurance directly to the market or through the broker whether on facultative or any other basis depending on the need of the situation.
\nAssist in the administration of the reinsurance program.
\nEnsure timely submission of closing and accounting documents as well as for settlement of premium recovery of claims from reinsurers.
\nEnsure accuracy of reinsurance contract with reference to original terms at which reinsurance is accepted.
\nMaintain efficient communication lines between the company and brokers.
\nPrepare reinsurance underwriting and claims statistics on a regular basis and update the same at periodic intervals as per requirement.
\nPrepare reinsurance payments\/recoveries relating reinsurance premium, commissioning and claims.<\/p>\n
Premium adjustments and returns preparation for approval
\nPreparation of all monthly Reinsurance Reports
\nAssist the underwriting team in managing Reinsurance cards preparation
\nReinsurance system parameter set up and continuous improvements;
\nEnsure prompt claims recovery
\nLiaise internally with other members of the team to ensure effective and efficient execution of client\u2019s requests
\nDelegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
\nPerform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

\nKnowledge, experience and qualifications required
\n\u00a0
\nBusiness related University Degree \u2013 insurance, statistics, accounts preferred
\nProfessional Insurance qualification, (CII OR IIK) \u2013 progress
\nMust have a minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in the reinsurance field.
\nKnowledge of Reinsurance Treaty, Facultative wording and Reinsurance Slips preparation a must

\nWorking Relationships

\nAccountable to the Reinsurance Manager
\nWork with all the departments.
\nWork with Britam Group staff across the organization<\/p>\n

\nKnowledge, experience and qualifications required
